Weight Loss Anyone want to form a 5lbs down in September Club? (GROUP CLOSED... sorry!) Sep 06 2007

Good morning everybody- I've been crazy busy with school starting so I'm a little behind on posting, but anyways...i'm down 1 pound!!!!  140 from 141.  AND I just realized that I grew a full inche and a half over the summer, making my weight that much more acceptable!  I'm now 5'5.5'!  Though I don't expect all the loss this month to be so rapid, it feels good to start off well!

Sounds awesome!  I'm been really lazy this summer, gaining back my small loss from my new year's resolution.   I'm 5'4", 141 pounds, 16 yrs.  This'll be tough (especially the 6 days a week excersise) 'cause I'm just starting school again, but I'm optimistic.

*My screen name is pretty-eyes and I'm a chocoholic.*

I just read in the paper last week that a study was done that showed people had more happy chemicals released in their brains from eating chocolate than from making out with their partners!  Lol, I feel like that sometimes.

Hey!  I'm 16, 5'4, well, almost :) and 140 lbs down from 146.  I'm taking it slow, one pound per week, but it's gone perfectly since the beginning of March.  Slow is perfect for me, because I can always reach my goal so I don't get frustrated and quit!
Weight Loss any teens 16 or so, want to play a game to help lose weight? Apr 17 2007

I'm in!  I'm 16, about 5'4 and currently 140 lbs.  I'm hoping to reach 125 or so then see how it goes.  I'm going extra slow though, trying to lose only one pound per week or I get obsessive and frustrated.  This way I can always reach my goal so I won't give up like I have so many times before.

Right now I'm just eating smaller portions and no dessert as far as diet goes.  I don't go by calories anymore, just by how my body feels.  This is working better than any counting diet I've ever tried (and sadly I've tried and failed at them all!).

For excersise, I take a dance class in school, go to yoga twice a week and now walk to the subway station instead of taking the bus, which means I walk at least 10 city blocks per day no matter what.  This has let me lose 7 lbs over six weeks so far!

I mini binge too, and all the above ideas for avoidance are really useful.  But I think over all, for me anyway, the most important thing is NOT TO GIVE UP.  I used to be super strict and then I'd make a mistake, feel bad about it and eat my feelings.  Now I make mistakes, learn to adjust my plan around it and somehow that makes the whole dieting process easier, leading to fewer binges.

I live in the T-dot myself!  The Beaches to be precise.  However, I'm not looking for a real life work out buddy.  I'm a teenager and my mom would freak if I met anybody from the internet in real life, which makes sense I guess.  Actually, we have A LOT in common, as I'm 5'4" and 143 lbs.  I hope we can commiserate.  Don't give up!!! love, your fellow torontonian.

My friends always stress my eyes...my eyes are blue and I've got really pale skin and dark hair, so I guess they stand out.  Whenever I felt fat or ugly, they were only thing I felt good about when I looked in the mirror.  Maybe it seems conceited to call myself pretty-eyes, but it's the one compliment I believe.  Now that I'm finally losing all the fat (I'm in highschool now, and taking some control of my weight,) i want to remember that my friends and family always had nice things to say.

I find that if you can manage to go for about three days without your weakness then you find it so much easier after that. Once you get past that first milestone, you have the proof you can do it! The trick is to VERY rarely eat food you know you'll start to crave. My weakness is cheese, and I avoid eating more than a small cube at one time.
