Hate to rain on the parade, guys, but Aspartame, the sweetener in Diet Coke,  should not be used in heated cooking, as it breaks down easily at relatively low temperatures.

If its the splenda Diet Coke, bake on :)

Do not blame them for you feeling lazy. They do not hold the reins to your fate, you do.

The idea of not having to relearn digestion techniques INCREASING metabolism goes against some common wisdom seen quite often on this site and many others (i.e., The Plateau Breaker)

The plateau breaker is otherwise known as the zigzag. A signifigant change to routine that knocks the body out of a low metabolism, forcing it to adapt to a changing routine, and begin burning a higher amount of calories that it had been during a tight routine.

Also, an A grade on this site does not necessarily mean all nutrition needs are being met, but instead seems to mean that the ratio of calories to nutrition is good. Eating the same meal plan over and over is a good way to miss some essential nutrient.
Weight Loss why maintenance is a MYTH Oct 18 2007

I'll agree maintenance seems like a myth...but only in the sense that it feels like I'll never make it there. :P

If you have the time, and a head for counting, check out the Hackers Diet (http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/e4/). The Perfect Weight Forever (http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/www/chapter1 _3_4.html#SECTION0340000000000000000) chapter goes over "maintenance" quite well.

I'll third the sentiment from the men.

I suspect it ties back in to the whole idea that we (men) are generally not taught by the media that our self worth lies in whether we are heavy or not.

The only time I ever felt self conscious of my weight was in interacting with the fairer sex in highschool. And at beaches and pools ;)

I have found a pretty nice product called True Lemon in my area, which is perfect for adding to water.

You can get it in individual pouches, much like artificial sweetener, or in a shaker. I buy the shakers and use 1/4 teaspoon for a 20oz bottle of water, and find it quite refreshing, and definitely makes the water more palatable.

If you only weigh in once a week, there's a chance you will get a high water retention day and you will feel like you've worked alot for nothing.

Wow...hate to break the trend, but even in HS, I was heavy.

Last growth occurred 11th grade year, and I dropped to around 200 at 5'10".

Senior year I was 220. I only ever gained after that.

Now, Down to 185, lowest adult weight ever.
Weight Loss Why do people look at me like I'm lying when I tell them how I lost weight Sep 17 2007

I have lost 65 pounds now. I began at 253 on my 5'10" frame. I have about 18 pounds left to hit my goal of 170 (or less depending on how much tummy is left by then :P).

I started getting comments and questions at about the 40lb mark.  Women notice more than men. "Diet and exercise" stops most questions cold. (as I'm a bit of an introvert, this is to my liking:D) I have had a few "mothers" tell me to not go for my goal of 170, too skinny. I just smile. I know what I need to do, no worries. If I want to make people more comfortable (or bat-poo insane), I save up my calories so I can splurge in front of them, as I've long suspected skinny people of doing to me ;).
