Actually, I am doing good when I lose 2# a month. So I will target 30# loss by 12/31/15.

Hi Peg & Steph,

I am losing a bit slower, but I do need to lose at least 30#.

Start 9/30/14 = 206 Target = 176 That will probably take me 1 year.

That is totally up to you.  Do what works for you.

I do daily, but if I see the following pattern:

I realize that without the middle day I would have assumed that I just stayed the same (which overall is what I did).

I realize that without the middle day I would be happy with the loss.

 

So I try to keep the longer perspective on an up day and look at the longer pattern, not just the one weight.

About myself:

I started a more determined effort to lose weight around the new year.  I am celebrating 9 months of consistent progress.  January was rapid loss and the months since have been much slower, but I am very happy that even though the progress is slow, it is continuing.

Slow and steady.

Progress not perfection.

It's work, but it works.

Continuing with Portion control, what are some methods you used to control your portions?

I do weigh my portions. But a big freedom is that even if I took it and weighed it, I don't have to finish it. I get another chance to make another choice. I can put some back or throw some away and either is OK.

Starting the day you read this, weigh yourself, and count calories for three days. Please tell us about it.

On day 2.  This is my norm.  I usually both weigh and count each day.

Finally, will everyone try pushups for four days this week. 

Can't do even the doorway ones because of my tendon injury.  So I will do crunches instead.
