I was in your shoes, but my family always said I was not fat. And encouraged me to eat, which made dieting even harder when I committed to it. I went from 250lb to 160lb really quickly when I was 15. And Maintained it, with a gain of 15lb muscle within the next two years. Long story short, I'm back on here because I am now 210lb, I lost everything I worked for in my body. But if a 250 can get to 160 in a short time for the first time, a wiser 19 year old 210lb that has done it before can do it smoother, and a lot healthier. Anyways, what I'm saying is, a lot of people say that losing weight fast always comes back. As in my case, it was not true, since I maintained it in two years, but when I did gain it back, it was because I was depressed. What I'm trying to tell you is, weight will always be a challenge in our lifes, but you can't give up. I see getting in shape, like a championship. This may be the first time you are going to lose weight, as many have had fought for their first championship. But once they have, they have kept it, and fought for it. And when the day did come that they lost it, they fought even harder to get it back. Losing weight is not for everyone, reaching your goals is not for everyone, and a championship is certainly not for everyone. But if you want to be a contender, it takes a little dedication. A little sacrifice. Theres no good food in the house? eat a small portion of what is there. If there is really nothing good. No excuses. Theres a big slice of pie in your face? swallow it. I'm sure Kobe Bryants friends have asked him countless of times to come to a club and drink, or go mess around. But he instead refuses and spends all his time practicing. At first, your friends, and family will wonder why? wow your weird. What a freak, shes gonna fail anyway why waste her time? and then you lose 10lb. Then they will get use to you rejecting bad unhealthy food. Then you lose another. And they stop offering. Then you lose Another, and they have earned your respect. You don't get respect, you earn it. And quite frankly, you don't even respect yourself yet. So go out there, and EARN THAT RESPECT.

You don't need to know what to do to lose weight.

Eat Healthy, Excercise.

Once Again

Eat Healthy, Excercise.

A Vegetarian Pizza is not healthy.

Neither is a Fat free donut.

Talking on the cellphone is not exercise, and neither is taking a shower.

Eat a turkey sandwhich without sauce. Wheat bread and veggies home made, or subway. But Just one,

Eat fruits, veggies, don't have? can't afford? only have a snicker bar? Take only one bite from that snicker bar until you can buy some decent food. if you can buy a $10worth of trash you can buy 2 Loafs of wheat bread for $5 and 2 packages of turkey cold cuts for $5. And I know it works. I lost most of my weight with just wheat bread, turkey, and veggies and fruits. It may not give a skinny guy a 6 pack, but it sure as hell gives a fat person a skinny body. Count on that.

Go out there and MAKE US PROUD!

Well, your son left. he will always love you, and that's life. I'm not quite sure how to make of the whole dieting because he left, but your lifestyle change is for the positive. I just hope you realize, he may have gone to further his education, and though you may not see him often, it does not mean he's gone forever. So don't think getting in shape will bring him back, because he has never left. Don't think of it as starting your life over, think of it as just doing what makes you happy. 62 years is pretty impressive to start over. With that said, goodluck to you and your son. And don't be too hard on yourself.

3500cal=1lb. So try to eat/burn enough so by the end of the week its 7000cal burned.=2lb. You should lose 20lb by may if you do that. (: use the tools on this website to keep you on track.

Stay away from whites.

(white bread, sugar, marshmellows, etc)

Try to replace your carbs with Fiber.

Stay low on Sodium.

Drink fruit juices in moderation, *you can easily pack on a thousand calories with gatorade, or orange juice if you don't pay attention. Yes liquid calories count*

The reason is, because food is liquid too. Your body digests it eventually, just slower. So all calories count.

Don't try to lose more then 2lb  a week, you will gain it all back. Because this isn't a diet, it's a life style change.

If you don't have the patience to lose 20lb in the course of 3 months, you won't have the patience to keep it off for the rest of your life.

Not in the habit? you will get into it with patience. Guaranteed.

Reward yourself whenever you successfully complete a week.

Don't go over board.

Be active
