Oh no.......it's happening here too!  The sky is turning something other than gray and a bright light is shining down.

It's aliens!  The Rapture is really aliens coming down to take us all away!!!

Apparently this rapture skipped New Jersey.

Figures.

In reading back, I came across this...

and spit out my water!

LOL!

Just don't send me the bill for a new keyboard.

I think you work for Mephistopheles, RJ. No wonder the rapture passed NJ by.

Pfft.  It wasn't anyone on my team.  We know better.

It's a special kind of inconsiderate to schedule a meeting from 3-5 PM on a Friday.

It's still rainy and overcast here.

And I'd say there's a 178% chance my street will be flooded today.  There was some standing water this morning, so I figure it will be submerged by tonight.

Awesome.

Actually I have a dinner very much like that in one of my stories...heh...

I have a really similar dinner planned... except add sauteed mushrooms to the onions, subtract the corn on the cob (had that last weekend) and add in a salad and fresh baked cheddar biscuits.

Are you serving it to a hawt, middle-aged exMarine cop? ;)

 I certainly hope not.

well that's annoying.  i have a banner ad for the company i work for.

I always do, too.

it's like they're hinting that i should be working or something.

I always think, "why, yes...yes I do want a summer vacation."

Nick @ Nite really sucks now. I liked it when it had Happy Days and WKRP and Taxi...now it's got not a single good show. Just sayin'. My Wife and Kids? Really? Did anyone ever watch that?

Yeah, I haven't watched it in probably 15 years.  But I was talking about the original incarnation with Mr. Ed and My Three Sons and all those other shows that were on when my parents were growing up.

And me, I watched those shows when I was a kid.

And, thanks to Nick at Nite, so did I.

GUMMI BEARS!!!!!!!

bouncing here and there and everywhere!

Magic and mystery are part of their history, along with the secret of Gummi Bear juice!

Man that song brings back memories.

 Truth.

...I bought a couple seasons of Fraggle Rock from FYE a few days ago...just...because. I wonder if other generations are as nostalgic as mine seems to be? :P

Considering the existence of Nick at Nite...I would say yes.

When I went on a trip to Europe in high school I refused to eat at the Pizza Hut in London. I mean, I can eat that at home! I'd rather eat the local cuisine of whatever country I'm visiting. Expand my palate, so to speak.

Even the local cuisine of England, though?

You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now, is happening now.

The many Burger Kings I saw in Spain were invariably packed, no matter what time it was.  Couldn't bring myself to eat at one, though.

To be fair, "worldly" is not the word I'd use for some of the people I know where I'm from who've eaten raccoon. (note: I said SOME.  Not trying to offend either of you)

Tee hee....

They are worldly to me. Some part of the world don't have racoon ya know.

In general though, traveling will bring some strange food to your table. Some are delightful, others not so much.

Some parts of the world don't have hamburgers either... doesn't make you worldly to visit McDonalds ;)

What if you visit McDonalds in France?

Thanks to Mad Men, the fall lineup will be inundated with 60s era shows, harking to a time when men were men and women were damned glad of it.

The top of the no play list: The Playboy Club.

Yeesh.

I'm about 99.99% sure I'm getting rid of cable.  In fact, I think I've pretty much made the decision and just need the impetus to cut the cord.

Do it.  I havne't had cable in over a year.  Between netflix, online shows and evening activities I don't miss cable at all.

Yup, that's pretty much my thinking.  The only thing that I was worried about was being able to see ND football without having to go to a bar (since I would easily spend more on beer and wings than I'd save on cable if I spent every Saturday afternoon in a bar).  But between an HD antenna and ESPN3, I think I'd be covered.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
