I bought a package of the Boboli 8" pizza crusts.  Each crust is 380 cals, so I cut one in half, spread a couple tablespoons of Boboli pizza sauce on it, along with half a cup of 2% shredded mozarella.  Total cals was 375.  I suppose I could cut the cheese back to a quarter cup, but I LOVE the melted cheese. I've tried several different one-serving size microwave pizzas, but I can't stand the crusts, so Boboli works best for me.  However, I'm going to try the English muffin pizzas.  I noticed my local grocery has 100-calorie muffins and thought I'd give those a go.  Pizza is my Achilles heel and the main reason I gained so much weight to begin with.  I was eating it two-three times a week for many, MANY years.

I used to drink two-three (sometimes more) Cokes or Pepsis a day.  Hate the diet sodas, so when I started this diet I switched to Crystal Light.  Love the peach tea-flavored Crystal Light, along with some of the others.  Haven't had a soda for over three months.  I'm sure that has contributed to my 31-pound weight loss.

Darwinsfrog, I thought it sounded good, too, so I Googled pumpkin oatmeal and there are all kinds of recipes available.  Try that.

The ingredients will be on my next grocery list.  Just sounds so yummy!

When I feel that way, and if I have calories to spare, I'll have one or two sugar-free pudding cups (60 cals each) or a couple sugar-free Fudgsicles (40 cals each).  Generally, I'll have these as a snack later in the evening, as opposed to eating them with a meal.

You're very welcome, darkbeam.  My real downfall, as far as sweets go, used to be Ben & Jerry's Reese's peanut butter cup ice cream.  Haven't had any for over three months now, and I'm surviving just fine.  Cry  LOLOL  And, hey, should you have the urge for something crispy and salty, give the Special K crackers (both multi-grain and Italian) a try.  Only 90 calories for 17 crackers, or 120 calories for 24 crackers.  The multi-grain ones are similar to Wheat Thins.

Have a  happy and safe holiday weekend, darkbeam!

Thanks for the heads-up on that, sadinplaid.  Guess I misunderstood.  Very sorry.  Different strokes for different strokes, as the old saying goes.  What works for me won't necessarily work for someone else.  Laughing

In my opinion, sure!  If I want something sweet, I'll have a couple sugar-free pudding cups (60 cals each), or two sugar-free Fudgsicles (40 cals each), or some frozen grapes, or two tablespoons of Cool Whip mixed with one teaspoon of peanut butter and dip it with a 100-calorie pack of Oreo Crisps (about 200 cals total).  Someone else on here had a neat idea:  One cup of frozen, unsweetened, sliced peaches.  Microwave for three minutes, mix with two packets of Splenda, top with two tablespoons of Cool Whip and a sprinkle of cinammon, microwave for another 30 seconds (about 100 cals total). I don't really have a sweet tooth, but I keep these things on hand just in case, and enjoy them two-three times a week.

Same here Robin!  I have been eating right and staying under my cals and I gained .6lb... I have been doing more exercise and working hard.. I think I'm going to keep track of my measurements on the side just for comfort during gain times LOL.

Isn't it weird, Tiffani?  But, we'll keep going forward.  And, I think your idea of tracking measurements is a good one!!  I take my hip measurements once in a while, but don't really keep track.  I'll start doing that!!!  Thanks for the idea.  Smile

I sincerely feel for those of you who say it's 24/7 and it hinders your life. I've been there. I used to weigh myself multiple times a day. If I overate one day, I'd punish myself the next three by undereating and overexercising. I ate breakfast thinking about what I would make for lunch, and ate lunch thinking about how much I'd have to run to get rid of lunch... Then I got pregnant and said eff it, and all my effort went to hell in a handbasket. I wish I knew what clicked in my head that I can do it now without thinking about it, without the guilt. When I was on Weight Watchers I wouldn't eat anything I couldn't count which hindered my life a lot; now on CC, I go out, I eat, I guesstimate sometimes, and I still lose weight.

I am curious, for those of you who say you think about it a lot, and it hinders your life, do you think of ways to change this? Do you want to change it? Are you worried about what's going to happen the second you let your guard down?

Oh, my no.  Definitely doesn't "hinder" my life.  Keeping close count of my calories, weight, etc., is motivating and fun for me.  I don't look upon it as a chore at all.  I weigh myself every couple of days and keep track of EVERYTHING I eat (except for those items like Crystal Light, tea, etc).  I find it challenging to figure out what I can eat and not exceed my current 1200 calorie-a-day limit.  After I lost 85 pounds five years ago, I got careless and didn't keep track.  As a result, I gained back 40 some pounds.  I won't let that happen again, even if it means keeping track the rest of my life.

I LOVE cod.  It's very mild.  I just cook it in a frying pan with a tablespoon of butter or spray the pan with butter-flavor PAM.  I add a little salt and pepper and that's it.  If I'm running okay with my calories for the day, I might use a little tartar sauce.

I have a tablespoon of peanut butter on a toasted slice of Sara Lee 45-calorie bread a couple of times a week.  I am very careful to measure it, as I do everything I eat.  Oh, and I eat it open-faced, no second slice.  Total calories:  About 135.  Fits very well into my 1200 calories per day.

Thanks much, Amethystgirl.  I did check it, plus I just checked half a dozen other websites.  Every one of them said the recommended total fat calorie limit for an adult is 20%-35% of total calories.  Now, I'm really confused.  Yikes.  Maybe I should submit the question to Ask Mary.  I do appreciate the heads-up, though.  You've really raised my curiosity and I'll be doing more checking.

i dont think ne one is trying to b rude to ne one else cuz of wethr or not they can spell, type or no good grammer  its when an entire message is written like this and the person doesnt care how they look or how there message is coming acrosst to othr people

As I said earlier, I understand that spelling, grammar, typing, etc. is not a strong point for a lot of people.  I love to write, yet I'm not completely confident in my writing and the way I express myself through messages, nor am I under the impression that my grammar and sentence structure is perfect.

I don't think any of us expect anyone else to be flawless, but it's when there is a complete disregard for effort that some of us get our backs up!  Yes, things like "it's" vs "its", and "your" vs "you're" irritate the snot out of me, but as long as I can understand what's being said I try not to be overly critical.

I do agree, however, that there is an increasing level of laziness, along with more and more errors like my initial paragraph popping up everywhere.  There is absolutely no excuse for that.  If you've had any level of education you should be able to construct a basic sentence, be aware of elementary punctuation, and have the sense to capitalize an "i".

Exactly, Samantha!!

Is there a particular amount that is too much? because im worried it will effect my weight

If your fat intake is below 70% of your total calories then your probably ok.

Hi, floggingsully.  I had always heard fat calories should not exceed 25%-30% of your total daily calories, so that's what I've been doing.  Maybe someone can confirm that.  If I'm wrong, I stand corrected.  Thanks much.

In early 2004 I weighed 307 pounds.  I discovered CC, started counting every calorie and lost 85 pounds.  Then, I decided I didn't need CC anymore, and over the next three years proceeded to gain back a lot of it.  On May 23rd of this year I weighed 270 and rejoined CC on June 1st.  I now weigh 238.

Since I was laid off in April and decided to semi-retire, I've spent a LOT of time (10-12 hours a day) on my computer.  I'm in and out of CC all day and probably spend over three hours in the site all together.  I don't consider myself to be obsessed.  I feel I'm inspired.  For me, counting calories and making the entries in the food and weight log is fun and motivating.  And, thank God it is, because I will probably have to do it the rest of my life.

Since I'm only consuming about 1200 calories a day and I'm a picky eater, it takes some time and thought for me to decide what to eat. It's a real challenge, but I ENJOY it.  However, what works for me won't necessarily work for everyone else.
