I have a blended family of two children and three step-sons.  My husband and I like to take mini-vacations with our two teen-aged children; my step-sons are already grown and doing well.

My favorite authors are Sherrilyn Kenyon and Christine Feehan.  I've read plenty more and still look for new authors to read.

I've taken to cooking lately.  I want to eat healthier and I want my kids to eat better too.  So, along with eating better, my kids are learning how to cook meals that will give them a lifetime of eating right.  They each have a night they have to cook every week.  This has given us more time together plus eating meals together.  It's a win-win situation!

I'm 44 years old, 5'2", and wieghed 208 lbs on July 10, 2009.  I have tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Slim Fast, and had no success with any of them.  I have tried to exercise and eat less but I haven't been able to accomplish both at the same time!  So, I have faced failure and more weight gain.  I have tried to tell myself that I'm okay at the weight I am.  That I have to love who I am at whatever weight I am.  Well that's fine for about a week or two then I feel uncomfortable once again in my own skin.  My individual and personal reasons for losing weight come to me throughout each day and I write them down each day in my journal.  Ultimately though, my main motivator is for my health.  I want to be healthier, feel better and I am determined to do so this time.
