Pita, let me help you push that woman down who didn't believe that Muppet was dating her bf. So you are having headaches again. do you get enough sleep at night? do you have a cold or something? I hope you feel better, Pita. Muppet, you are beautiful inside and outside. those people are just haters. Thanks for the advice about the psychiatrist. She is a sports medicine doctor and works with patients who need to lose weight. I might give her a try. We will see. Akela, tell us what you did with the boss. Topeze & Snooglies, where have you been? To the new members: Welcome!

Pita, Totally agree with you. it is not the best option for me either. I was thinking about this surgery for my sister. She is 300 lb and has tried to lose weight so many times. her health is in poor condition. Sounds like a fun and nice Father's day. :) You are a good person. So many people won't feel bad about treating their assistant like an errand boy. Is this the first time you have such a headache or have you had it before? Hope you feel better. Kathryn, Good luck, girl! I am excited for you. I am sure that WW will motivate you to lose weight. I like your pic by the way. Very pretty! :) ok ladies. I went to the doctor today and asked him if he knows any weight loss specialist. he referred me to a physiatrist. I don't know what a physiatrist can do for me? sounds confusing to me. I called her office and she told me that she is not a nutrition expert but she can help me lose weight. So I asked her if she could give me a meal plan and she said yes. I am more confused after that call. Any advice?

OMG! Pita, I always thought the stomach size is reduced after that surgery so the person can't eat the same amount of food that he used to eat before. I don't understand how people gain the weight back. Don't they feel any loss of appetite after the surgery? I am really curious because my sister who is 300 pound really needs help and we were thinking about the surgery as an option. She has high blood pressure and a blood clot in one of her legs. Her overall health is not good. |

Oh Snooglies, Thanks so much for sharing this info with us. I, presonally, don't want to do it but my sister was thinking about it. She is about 300 pounds and is having hard time trying to lose weight. She has been on a yoyo diet almost all her life, and we have been talking about this surgery as an option for her lately. I strongly believe in losing weight the natural way is the best way to do it. For some people, it is hard though. Akela, training for a 5K in Sept is awesome. Of course, it will be safe for me. I am excited about this. I am so sorry to hear about that accident. Glad that the boy is recovering. Topeze, A 110 pound skinny fat girl means that she has no muscle defintion. Her body is almost fat with little muscle. Muscles burn more calories and increase metabolism so a 110 pound skinny fat girl could have little energy in her body and is not very healthy. Muppet, it will get better. Don't feel bad. it is what it is. just accept it and work from there. you are doing great. you started NP and you will lose weight. It could be water retention by the way. so wait a week and step on the scale again. |

Pita, What a funny story! I remember I was on a bus, wearing a short skirt that revealed a little bit above the knee. there was a sweet little boy, sitting next to his mom. I heard him shouting and pointing at my legs," Mommy, look!". My face turned red immediately and his mom was embarrased. The bus was quiet and everyone heard him. Now, I remember and it makes me laugh. lol. Akela, don't feel bad.You did an awesome job by staying binge free for 24 days. I think when you start exercising, you will see a difference. And make sure that get enough sleep! are you saying you gonna start training in Sept or will you run a 5K in Sept? if you will start training in Sept with kathryn, count me in:) I am too heavy to do anything right now. Jaeger, I looovveeee your wedding pics. What a beautiful girl! and the dress is very pretty. Good luck with your 5K. Kathryn, I am so sorry to hear that. Are you ok? and yay for starting WW. Do whatever helps you to get motivated. I am seriously thinking about hiring someone to cook for me and that way, I will get prepared healthy meals everyday. I don't cook and that is a problem. Not sure how much it will cost. My fingers are crossed for ya! Shapie, you are harsh, girl (j/k). I don't wanna die before I lose weight. And no, I am not going to stand in a dark tunnel or whatever. I just have anxiety in general and simple things that normally don't bother people, can make me anxious. I was involved in a bus accident when I was a kid. I don't drive cars. I have fear of being in water so I don't swim and I can't bike. I was pretty much excited in the beginning but then I started to get hesitant after I watched some utube videos. I might go just to face my fears. There is also a possibilty that I might fall, which is dangerous because I can bleed internally. I am on a blood thinner medication for my clots. Muppet, stay away from the scale. you should resist this. the best way is to try on clothes or jeans and see how they fit. So you have a dress that fits you in all sizes? that must be a magic one:) I like the idea of having a list for motivation. can you share with us some of the reasons you wanna lose weight? Topeze, thanks for the support. Much appreciated. How is your apartment hunting? I hope it went well.

Hi ladies, I have a confession. I am really mad at myself because I haven't done anything yet to lose weight. Shapie, thanks for the tips. I think Disney rides make me nervous a little bit. I watched some videos on utube and I don't know if I'll change my mind.

I heard a lot about the benefits of this oil, but never tried it before. I am trying to lose weight and I think that I just have to be careful and watch my portions if I ever want to use it. Are you guys trying to lose weight or are you just maintaining? how much is enough per day? |

Pita, Good for your starting exercising. you are doing it right. To lose weight, healthy eating is actually more important that working out. Doing both together is great . I don't exercise either. I just don't have the stamina anymore.Having blood clots in my lungs makes me out of breath very easily but I am also hoping that I can get better one day. Snooglies, thanks! :) I hope the pain will go away if I start working out. Congartulations on the weight loss. A 30 pounds loss is aweome. you rock! Muppet: Nice to" meet" you! :) it sounds like some members here know you already. you sound like a nice and vibrant personality. Shapie, OMG! did you just mention " Disney"? what a coincidence! I want to go to Disney this summer. never been there before but I am bit nervous because of my weight and age. if you have any suggestions, please share. BTW, I went to the Alex. McQueen exhibit too. It was fantastic. Vhen, Best of luck to you and your sister in law. do you mind if I ask you how old is she? I really would like to get something like that done and would love to hear about others' experiences. Diz, Nice to see you. check in when you can. Akela, 19 days binge free is just AWESOME! really awesome. Congtratulations! are you following any particular diet plan? Topeze, have fun in the city with your friend. hope to see you some other time. Jaeger: where are you? how is everything with you? Kathryn: Good for you starting on the elliptical. My trainer used to tell me that it is easy on the joints and good for beginners. About your diet plan, are you saying that you want to count 80% and 20% no counting? how? I personally think it could work as far as you practice portion control for the remaning 20%. For example, if you eat 80% veggies and fruit and then you eat 20% cakes and sweets, the total number of calories at the end of the day might be high. but the plan is a good start, anyway. I am sorry if I missed anyone. Have a nice weekend! :) |

Hello Ladies, Pita, Good to know that you will be in NY soon. I am here if you need anything:) Topeze's list is very good. Shopping in the city is so much fun, I can send some suggestions if you want. Snooglies, are you saying that your backpain is gone now because of your bike exercises? if so, I will start doing it soon. I have a terrible lower back pain. Topeze, if you think about coming to the city, let me know. I would love to see you. Any plans for a summer vacation, ladies?

Yay! Topeze is interested in a meetup. Don't you realize that we are in the same boat, my dear? I am overweight and big but I also know that nobody here will ever judge me. we are on CC to lose weight. We are all in the same struggle. Akela: A year or two would be too far :) don't you think ? I am thinking maybe by the end of the year to evaluate our progress and also to get to meet in person. It will be fun. I hope more members can make it. It will be very interesting. Pita, Snooglies: are you far away from the east coast? I totally agree with Snooglies, fear has prevented me from doing so many things in life. It basically stole my life from me. I am learning to not let than happen. Kathryn: I know you live in Canada but if you can come to Manhattan, it would be awesome. It is good that your bf is not a vegetarian. There are a variety of recipes for his condition. Dairy, meat, rice, seafood. there are so many options. I am vegetarian and it is hard for me to avoid veggies. I can eat sea food but I am forced to eat veggies anyway. don't hate yourself for gaining the weight. you will lose it again. you are working on it. It is just a matter of time. Jaeger, so you hit a plateau? that is not uncommon. try to eat 1200 cals and see what happens. where are you by the way? can you make it to the meet up? Pita, I looovvveeee salmon and mashed cauliflower. if you have more calliflower recipes, please share. Actually, I see no harm in mailing the ad to the parents. Maybe they have no idea about what is going on. Shapie, if you are in CT and you could come to Manhattan, we would love to see you. Welcome ecla and vhen!

Akela, I am sorry to hear about your friend situation. Let me tell you something. From what I read, I don't think that she forgot. I think that she had another emergency that she didn't want to tell you about and she didn't know how to come up with a reasonable execuse. I could be wrong, though. How can she forget something like that? I just can't believe this. Anyway, don't feel bad. You can always have a drink with me :) I promise I won't forget. where are you? I can help you with your house, too. Pita, You did a lot of work on the weekend. I, too, love a clean organized house. It just feels SOOO good and relaxing. My place is just messy these days. I have no energy after work to do anything and on the weekends, I am out running errands and just can't stay home. I love cabbage. I used to drink a raw cabbage juice when I had a stomach ulcer and it helped. The taste was weird. I think that if you contact the girl, she might not listen. It is better to reach the parents. Good luck to your daughter finding a good job!

Girl, you look amazing. Congratulations on your weight loss! Please, please, please, don't burn yourself out. I made the same mistake a few years ago and let me just tell you it was a huge mistake. Why don't your focus on maintaince right now? I know that you want to reach your goal by Sept, but it really won't hurt if your body needs extra time to do that. And by maintaining your weight, you are still working on reaching your goal. just an idea to think about. Good luck to you! |

Hello ladies, Akela, it is rainy and cold here in NY. you wanna come over? Shapie, thanks so much for the support and the info. Nice to meet you too. I really want to start walking because I have no energy to exercise in the gym.I am looking for a clinical nutritionist these days because I need help managing my diet. Kathryn- I am so sorry to hear about that. You have been though a lot but I am sure you will get better. It just takes time. And thanks for the info on the difference between the chiropractor and the PT, I didn't know that much about it. Wish you the best and it is amazing that you are determined to go back to the gym and do whatever it takes to get better. Mandi- What you are going through is not easy but try to look at the positive things in your life. You have a wonderful baby, your husband is away to get better for himself and his family, and you have a great support system. I think these are all wonderful things. you are in control. that was a minor slip and now you are back on track. Jaeger- You are doing awesome job by logging your food and switching to healthier food. Good luck to you ! hotwingz- welcome to the group! Snooglies, how was your weekend? |
