Motivation In desperate need of moral support after binge. Jan 08 2012

Thank you for all the replies. I let myself feel down for a day and then picked myself back up and started fresh. I decided not to give myself a deficit because I want to feel satisfied and I don't want to begin a vicious binge/starve cycle. I have kept up my marathon training and I'm trying to eat more protein heavy foods. More lean meats and nuts mainly. I think eating a little more on training days is a good idea because my body has obviously been trying to tell me that it needs more nutrients. I haven't flopped yet since the laste binge and I hope to stay strong. Thanks for your support!!

to the OP what are your current stats? how long did it take to lose the weight? what is your activity level like?

I started out at 5'5 and 150 lbs and am down t0 120 lbs. It took me a little less than a year and I would say I am pretty active. I work out about 5 times a week and days I don't work out I still get a lot of activity. I live downtown so I walk just about everywhere.

I don't know why men don't like to eat alone but you have to watch out for the "Baby try this" or "Aren't you gonna eat with me" as well.

haha this is so true... why do guys do this? he actually gets offended when I won't eat with him.

I suppose that is what the food log is for.  You can look up your own brandsDo your own research.  I'm not trying to be snotty, but what is the use of having these tools if people don't use them?

I posted this thread with the simple intent to spark a fun convo and get people's opinions. I am very aware of the food log and I use it quite often, but thanks.

Well.. what I would do is... eat just one and get extra exercise that day.  Or eat lightly throughout the day and allow yourself a treat.

hi. well i think you first need to start looking inside yourself. What is missing in your life? Does the moving together thing is scaring you and you need some non-commitment sexual relationship witha guy who doesn' represent the same things as your boyfriend? maybe need to spice the things a little bit at home and look for new things or the old good things that you two used to do in the past. I bet you your co worker its not THE hottest guy ever,  the no women can resist his eyes kind of guy, so it is happening right now for some other reason. The same thing you are trying to do now like avoiding him, its the same thing  you are doing with other stuff you cant manage: avoiding them, and trying to keep everything normal, without conflict. Girl the news is you have a conflict about something deeper and your subconscient is just not happy with it. Don't be afraid, take a look inside and you will feel better.

I'm not going to lie, I am a little scared to move in with him but it's what I want. The timing is odd, however... that I start to notice another guy right before I move in with him. This thought has crossed my mind. It makes me wonder if deep down, i'm scared of such commitment.

that seems really high.. the average woman should have 21% body fat. that calculator doesn't seem like it could be that accurate. have you tried getting your body fat tested with something more reliable- like a caliper or even a scale that measures body fat??

Sarah B -  Where does it state that 'the average woman should have 21% body fat'?

This doesn't match the figures I've found when looking up average body fat percentages on the internet.

21% body fat would put you at the top end of the 'fitness' range (21 - 24%) and just outside the body fat percentage of a female athlete (14 to 20 %).

Other charts provide average body fat percentages for different age ranges The older you get the higher the average body fat percentage becomes (for that age range).

That's what I was told by an onsite personal trainer at my work when I got mine tested. I should have checked other sources though.

I have it but I am anti taking drugs for it. It is something I try to control on my own but it can be quite a challenge at times. My mind is always racing. I zone out constantly. I fidget in movies. I drive my boyfriend crazy sometimes. I find that certain hobbies help.. although I have to be careful because before I know it, i'll have started 10 different things and then of course I don't finish anything. Coffee was mentioned.. I don't know if that's suggested for only children but I find a cup of coffee in the morning definitely helps calm me down.

I don't really buy that men think about sex more than women.  I think if somehow we could come up with an all around average then it would be pretty equal.

My wife is a 34 B.  Even after having a daughter, her's look amazing.  I'm glad she wasn't bigger.  More than a handful is a waste!  Not that I'm down on anyone carring a bit more than that.  To each their own.

my own bf unfortunately has the same opinion. he likes the smaller ones. "sigh" oh well.

you still have 500 calories which leaves plenty of room for a snack and a light dinner. maybe have some fruit for a snack and dinner with something along the lines of grilled chicken and veggies. you will be fine, even if you do go over a little!

Honestly the best thing that works for me is exercise. I know it's hard to exercise when it's that TOM, especially if you get bad cramps. But I pop some midol, get some light exercise, and drink plenty of water. That works for me!
