Weight Loss Has your sense of taste or smell changed? Apr 20 2008

My sense of smell hasn't changed at all. But my tastebuds are much more sensitive to salty/greasy and even sugary foods. I almost choked the other day when I ate an olive by itself...i love olives..but they're too salty! I definitely can't drink soda anymore..it burns my throat! I love that these foods/drinks are no longer appealing to me anymore! I just wish more restaurants offered a bigger variety (or any at all) of healthier options, because even if the greasy/salty foods were less calories..I would not want them!

Foods Who has tried the tofu shirataki Fettuccine Hungry Girlfredo from hungrygirl.com??? Apr 08 2008

I use that recipe all the time!! I do the chicken alfredo! I really like it!! BUT..i never used to eat fettuccine alfredo..so I don't really compare it to the real thing. It definitely took me a while to get used to the noodles..but they taste much better with the cheesy sauces (vs. tomato sauce)..make sure you dry out the noodles as much as possible like it says in the recipe..it really makes a difference. anyways..i like it a lot..but thats just me!

i think that cc substracts out the amount of calories you would have been burning for that 3 hours if you weren't working out and then adds in your workout. if that makes sense. :)

Fitness Calories Burned on Elliptical Apr 05 2008

I have wondered this also!! Im not sure if the eliptical is right for me either, because Im 145 pounds (5'7) and work out for 30 minutes on the elliptical and it tells me that I have burned 450 when im done. I enter my weight and age into the machine so im hoping that it gives me the right amount of calories burned, but it seems like a lot. I go pretty fast too..not sure of the mph..but it usually says 200+ rpm. I don't usually hold on to the handles, but when I do it tracks my heart rate and its usually 160+..anyways..i guess im wondering the same thing as you..can i really be burning this much?? I hope so!

i go through a head of iceberg lettuce about every two days. I use it in a lot of things. I also go through a lot of spinach leaves, romaine, and alfalfa sprouts..but i just really like iceberg lettuce. i agree with ekp..iceberg is good for a lot of things that you dont want something really leafy in..like burritos and tacos.

3 DIY Tortilla Tricks
I love Mexican food—tacos with crispy shells, crunchy taco bowls and salty tortilla chips. But I could do without the extra calories, fat and sodium in the salty, often deep-fried tortillas served at many restaurants or the less-than-healthy packaged versions of these foods sold in the supermarket.
