Try Vietnamese Pho (or other broth-based noodle dishes). Also, summer/spring rolls are pretty light in calories. Make sure the rolls aren't fried.

Often times, colleges will offer some health services for free or pretty cheap. Look into that for working on your social anxiety, because you probably won't be able to avoid all group projects.

Of course, like you said, the more you expose yourself to social situations, the less anxious you'll be.

Good luck! College is a great experience!

You know, just to help you make some future choices, I like using makeupalley.com.

This is the 2nd time I've mentioned it on CC, lol, I feel like I'm shilling the site, but I completely support user reviews - the more reviews I can get my hands on, the more accurate my expectations will be if/when I get the product.

Since no one's mentioned them, you can also try throwing in some nuts, edamame, and/or croutons.

I was on Seasonique for 2 months, thought it was the reason I was having trouble losing weight, so I stopped. In the two weeks following, I dropped 5 lbs, just peeing all the time.

My OB/GYN also gave me a sample pack of Yaz, which I may try if I can't control my dysmenorrhea. But really, I'd just rather take the Nasproxen after that whole Seasonique ordeal.

Err, I haven't sampled their sandwiches, but here are a few things off the top of my head:

Fruit and Nut Oatmeal - 100 or 150 cals?

Sugar free Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake - 300 - 360 cals (I actually like this far too much for my own good)

I also read that their breakfast sandwiches are pretty low cal too, ~300 calories.

They have Skinny Lattes for 100 cals, you can ask them to add a dash of sugar free syrup if you want.

Try punching in the zip code 77030 and clicking any random store for more food info. They say there is regional variation, but I can't imagine it is really all that different.

Really, if I decide to reach deep down, I kind of blame my mother for making me overweight. I was probably around 8 or so when I got really sick, and my mom decided to make me eat a bunch of food, all the time, since she thought if I were larger it'd help me get better quicker. I associate that to about when I started gaining weight.

It's probably not fair, and everything after that is all me, but it's just one of those "what ifs" that I can't get out of my head.

There's a lot of other stuff I could list if I were being picky, (i.e. pay for my college education!) but in general, I feel like I got really good parents that instilled a lot of good principles in me.

Original Post by alibsam:

Korean pop music. In general I'm an indie music snob but there's something addictive about Korean music. Or maybe it's because I'm constantly surrounded by it. The same goes for Korean variety shows... hilarious.

My only other guilty pleasure is "school supplies". I'm obsessed with buying pens and the like.

I stumbled upon jpopasia.com like a week ago and now I'm jamming to some Korean music every workout session :) Big Bang is awesome!

I have too many guilty pleasures, including Big Macs, blasting music and dancing if the house is empty, and really bad TV. I'm talking like Maury's show ("I'm 1 MILLION % sure he is the father"), Tyra, and various court room shows.

Hmm, this stuff is good to know. One time iTunes decided to up and delete an entire playlist...I had to handpick the songs out again from memory. Also something similar happened a while back when I bought a new computer.

Thanks akasharaine!

If you're feeling adventurous, you can try furikake (Japanese rice toppings: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furikake). There are a lot of different types with different combinations of ingredients.

Amazon sells them and has reviews if you're interested.

Yeah, haha...I was thinking - "100 calories?!" And all I could think of was popcorn, which is more like a snack. Perhaps I should be more creative with my food.

Oh, just thought of one - soup. Shirataki/konnyaku noodles with miso soup is really filling, and the only way I can stomach those noodles. Actually, many soups will clock you in under 100 cals, even if you toss in a bunch of vegetables.

Distressing. I always find his tenacity and intelligence extremely admirable. When I was a kid, I wanted to be as smart as him!

And since it's been pointed out, I'm minding my tenses. :X

Original Post by santonacci: Seriously?  That sucks.  In middle school we were introduced to the 5 paragraph format only to introduce us to formal paper writing.  When I got to high school every AP english teacher I had scrapped it.

Yes, there was some serious brainwashing of our English teachers. They all terrorized the students into The Formula (as well as memorizing a giant list of tones...which was...really, beyond ridiculous) and bit off our heads when we stepped away from The Formula.

I only wish I had fun writing English papers in high school...I might have ended up liking it. Unfortunately, we were always tied to a strict essay formula to enhance our AP scores, so we never got around to really writing anything, only analyzing authors' tones in a five-paragraph format. It was a PITA.

My senior English teacher once made a kid cry b/c he wrote the conclusion instead of a body paragraph due to time contraints. Yeah. Like I said, strict formula.

Wuthering Heights - I thought everyone in that book acted like a complete idiot. I hated it.

Also, Great Expectations. I must've tried on 4 separate occasions. It just didn't suck me in, and I got bored of it within the first few pages.

The Kite Runner and The Great Gatsby were fine. Though I agree that Kite Runner is slightly overrated.
