Hi everyone! As of yesterday, I've lost 45 lbs since Jan 2, 2007. Next goal is five more by 8/1! I'm losing really really slow, actually losing and gaining a lb or two, for a week or so, and then finally, the scales will creep down a little, lol.
Congrats to everyone here, you're all doing a GREAT job! |

Hi, Haven't been on in a while....I've had a bone infection again, the meds make me feel terrible, and retain fluid. I gained 8 lbs in one day. But, I've done pretty well with my foods, and after I've finished the meds, the fluid is mostly off, and I think I may have dropped another lbs or two. Then, my laptop was on the blink, had to order a part, just got it out of the shop...twice!
Anyway, I've gotten a huge order from a nearby boutique for my custom children's clothing and I'm starting on them today. I do appreciate all the positive comments here. I sure need all the help I can get. I've lost 42 since the first of the year, looks doubtful that I'll make my 50 goal by 8/'1.....BUT I'm thrilled with what I have. |

Hi....
I'm in northern Alabama, lol, but still Alabama! Dh and I went down your way last week, we went to gulf shores for a few days. We enjoyed it, beautiful weather... I did pretty well on my cc lifestyle while on vacation, except maybe when we ate at Lamberts! |

WooHoo! I made my next mini goal of 40 lbs lost!!! Scales are so wacky, I always wait until the weight is showing gone for 2-3 days before I claim it, LOL. Course, I still weigh much more on the doctor's scales, etc, but these are the ones I started weighing with, so they are what I'm going with. Time seems to be flying by, and my weight loss seems to be sssoo slow. But, as long as it's going the right direction, I can live with it. My next goal is 50 lbs, by Aug 1st., but as slowly as it's coming off, I'm doubting the time frame there. I usually don't set a time, but that's my birthday, and I set that goal a long time ago, LOL.
Congrats to everyone on all the losses. You are all an encouragement to me. |

Thanks V! I had just mixed a water with crystal light, and didn't wanna leave it to get hot in the car, so I popped in my huge purse, lol. DH and I kept joking that we were gonna get kicked out!
I've had a pretty good day today, eating light early, cuz I'm still a little shaky from the virus, but I will have eaten just over 1200 before the day ends....trying a grilled ground round burger on wheat bun tonight...yum... |

Hey all, dh and I went on a mini vacation, the first in a long time. I was concerned, cuz typically that's a really good excuse for me to eat! But we stopped on the way, and instead of a bag of cookies/candies, I bought fruit: sliced apples/pineapple/watermelon...yum.. I made some better choices with meals, and some not too good either. But, overall, I think I did well. I picked up a virus the last night and certainly didn't have to worry about eating at all the last day, LOL. I think I may have even lost a lb. We went to a movie, another downfall for me, but I had a small popcorn, no butter, and slipped my water in with me, lol.
So, overall, I'm pretty happy with the days off. I've been seeing only a very slight weight loss the last month, and really want to get focused again. since the first of the year, I've lost 38 lbs, but I need to lose 85 more, my next mine goal is 50 by 8/1...I don't post a lot, but I read here everyday, it's my favorite thread. |

Hi,
I haven't posted in a while, but wanted to touch base. I'm sticking with the healthier eating pretty well, but it seems my weight lost has come to a screeching halt. In fact, I think I've put on a couple of lbs. It's so discouraging, cuz, at first, when my weight fluctuated a little, I didn't get so bummed out. But now, when I see a gain, I feel so helpless, and hopeless. I had lost a total of 37 since the first of the year, looks like i've gained back 2 or 3, sigh....I really wanted to lose 50 by my birthday on 8/1....I still have tons to lose, and I'm not rushing the time frame, but I need to see a overall downward trend! Oh well, sorry, just whining this morning.. |

Well, as a much more 'mature' lady (translates old, hehe), I know that there are many periods in our lives when we feel 'stuck' or 'in a rut', etc. It seems particularly hard when you are a young person. I think thats because when your older, you have the experience of knowing that even tho when you are in the 'stuck' mode, it, too, will pass....sometimes younger people haven't felt that a lot and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel.
We have so many times during our lives that we seem to be against a brick wall, our lives out of our control seemingly, nothing seems right. In times like that, we all despair. Please remember, that this too will pass! You both have bright big futures waiting for you! If you could envision the surprises and delights this world can bring, it would bring a smile to your face. Just make the best choices you can, and do the things that will be the best for you long term. short term pleasures are not always the best choices, in anything really, especially food, lol. Have a wonderful day!!! And smile, somebody out there loves you! |

Hi everyone! I'm ssoo excited, and for a couple of reasons! First, I'm disabled and get very little excerise and yesterday I was able to start on pool therapy! I love it! I could move so much better in the water. Of course, after so much inactivity, I overdid, lol, and am major sore/stiff. But, still, I can see where it will help ssoo much!
And, today I made my second mini goal! I've lost 30 lbs since I started here on 1/1/07. I'm eating more than ever, and feeling so much better about myself. Of course, I have a long long way to go, I still need to lose about 95 more, but it's a start. And the best thing, is that I feel like this is something I can live with. YIPEE!! |

When I started the first of the year, I didn't even really consider giving up my pepsi/cokes! I would drink one in the morning instead of coffee for my caffiene starter, lol, and sip on them during the day. I decided to keep the one in the am. So i poured 8 oz, counted it and included it in my calories. Pretty soon, I noticed I was drinking all of it, so I got a smaller glass and went to 4 oz. I really wasn't drinking all of that after a couple of days either. One day, I was out of colas, so just drank water, and didn't miss it as bad as a thought. That's been almost three months now. That is one thing I NEVER thought I would be able to live without.
I think that's why using this site has helped me so much. I tell myself I really can have whatever I truly want, as long as I count it, kwim....but i've found myself making better and better choices along the way. i'm disabled, and get very little excerise, so what I eat is pretty much all I can do at this point. I am trying to get started with some water therapy within a couple of months. So far, I've lost 27 pounds, and I'd truly love to lose a total of 50 by August 1st. I'm not sure if that is reasonable for me, dh says 40 by then is a better goal...what do you all think? |

Thanks to all, for the encouragement! I am taking it one day at a time, and hoping with the onset of springs, the fresh veggies (LUV tomatoes), will also help! I still am continuing to lose and my next mini goal is 9 lbs away...I'm really beginning to think I might actually make it with all the help from this site. The main thing for me, is to remember to break down and eat all along thru the day. I do save more for the night meal, cuz it's with my dh, and I try to eat a variation of what I fix for him. But, I still need to eat every 4-5 hrs during the day. It makes me feel much better, and gives me more energy. I hope to be able to start some type of exercise soon.
thanks again! |

Morning everyone!
I am ssooo excited! I began this journey on Jan 2, 2007. I made my first mini goal of 25 pounds today!! (and yep, I've realized that was way too big of a first goal, lol). And my long term goal now is officially under 100 pounds...well it's 99, but hey.... I, like Stinky, try to eat several times a day, and am actually eating more food than I have in years. I've been overweight all my life, and have constantly starved myself while getting bigger and bigger. I had trouble believing I could eat good healthy, correct portions and not get even bigger. But it's happening, and for the first time in my life, I can see myself living and eating this way from here on out, which is what it will take. I'm so thankful for this site, it makes a huge difference to me. Have a GREAT day! |

Welcome to all newcomers! I, too, found this site by 'accident', but I believe it to be a tremendous help to me. I began on 1/2/07 at 304, and today I'm at 282. I, also, have lost and gained enough weight in my lifetime to sink a ship! This time, I'm totally convinced that I can live the rest of my life, eating like I am eating. Previously, I'd hindered my metabolism so much by not eating much, that I was eating very little food, and of course, what I did eat was junk.I believe I was in starvation mode most of the time. I'm eating much more food, between 1300-1400 cal a day, with one day a week about 1500-1600. I'm eating several times a day, and can honestly say I've not been hungry. I have had a couple of cravings, but nothing like it used to be. I have some major health problems and, have not excerised at all. I hope to start water therapy soon, and believe this will help greatly too.
I think the trick is not to limit your choices tremendously. For instance, I know I really can eat whatever I want to eat, if i CHOOSE to. Chocolate is my best friend, lol...and sometimes i think I have to have it. So, I bought a yummy 100 cal dark choc bar, and I know when the craving hits, if I've not gone over my cal limit for the day, I can enjoy one. The box of 8 lays on my counter in plain view, they are available, I can have it, kwim? But , in two months, I've only eaten part of one box. I just know that I've tried every diet there is, and if I'm severely limited to what I can eat, I won't stick with it. I have gradually replace items with the healthier versions, ie wheat breads, no or low fat versions, etc. For the first time in a very long time, I really think this journey might be possible! And, I believe, I can and will do it! And, so can we all! |

Hi everybody!
I'm so excited, I started this healthier way of eating/life the first of the year, and, as of today, I've lost 20 lbs!!! And I'm eating more than ever, I've always been overweight, and always starved myself, just ruined my metabolism. I'm also disabled, and have done no exercise. No one can really tell it, but my clothes are really getting big! I have so much further to go, over a hundred, but, for the first time in a long time, I believe it can happen. |
