Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I am changing it now.  Now I don't feel so bad eating that grilled cheese.  And I feel so much better physically now that I have some substance in me.

From other posts people had recommened that if you have an office job to put your activity level at sedentary and then beef it up with the activities.  That is why I changed it.  I was much happier when I had lightly active as my activity level.

I would prefer to be toned than really lose the weight.  I have free weights and videos but I lack the room as well as having a hard time trying to find the time  For instance, I have a bunch of exercises that I can do when I get home tonight but knowing my family, I will probably get distracted and have to prevent my daughter from having a meltdown.  I don't feel like I have any control which I really hate.

But if you think that changing my activity level is the right thing to do I am all for it.  I am getting so hungry and end up binging, hence the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup I just had for lunch.  My salad just didn't look appetizing!

Look around online for exercises you can do at home--jumping rope or hula hooping come to mind--that don't require a lot of space or special equipment.  Your current weight is fine; if you don't like how you look, you need to work on reshaping what you've got.  Calorie restriction without exercise will leave you looking soft, and that's not what most of us want.

Done!  Have it folded in my calendar and I am going to do in between tasks at night.  I know what you mean about being hungry and having it backfire.  I am so about to make a huge plate of pasta carbonara and eat it all by myself just so I can feel full!  I obviously need to make some changes.  Thanks!

@emcgettigan I totally feel you.  I am uo by 5:30 (if I am lucky, just so tired) and need to be out of the house by 7 to drop the kiddy off and be on the train by 7:30.  Then an hour on the train and  20 min walk (thankfully) to get to work by 9.  Then the reverse which get's me home no earlier than 7, and that's without picking up the kid.  Then it's cooking dinner, tubs and prepping for tomorrow.  With some awesome separation anxiety  I don't get a moment to my self until 10:00 at the earliest.

My walks are crucial as they are my only form of exercise at the moment.  ALthough the heat and rain have been taking those away from me lately.  I also throw in some pushups against the sink in the bathroom if I know no one is around.

I know I could get up a half hour ealier, I am sure I could go for a walk when I get home (and see my daughter for even less time) but I am just too tired.  I love people who say you can always make time.  In reality I get that it's there.  But what about my sanity??? I need that time to give my brain and body a break.

Oh hey, while were at it.  Let's throw on some working mom guilt while we're at it.  Ha ha

See that's the problem!! If I don't workout I don't have a choice but to stay at those levels.  And I do want to eat my arm off!!!  I would rather exercise like crazy than eat like this.  But based on my burn meter I am going to gain weight if I don't.  I won't even be able to maintain.

It seems like my only real option is to get more exercise.  I am not  exactly sure how I am going to do that considering my time constraints.  I guess that means more pushups in the bathroom.

By the way, I'd rather eat my arm then brown rice.  I just can't stomach the stuff.  I feel like I'm eating sand.  You all gave me some good suggestions so I at least have a place to start.  Thanks!

Thanks for the replies.  I had a feeling that exercise was going to be what I needed more than anything.  I have a mile to and from work almost everyday.  I take the subway if it's really hot or raining... especially on the way in.  The way home I usually crank my ipod and look like a fool walking and dancing on the street.  And I do pushups in the bathroom at work if I am sure no one is going to walk in.  :)  (against the sink, not on the floor... ew)

Besides this, I have a really hard time getting a workout in.  I am up at 530am, kid at daycare by 7am, home by 7pm, feed myself and get kid in tub by 8pm, kid in bed at 9pm and since we are currently going through some separation anxiety I don't leave her room until she is asleep no ealier than 9:30pm.  Then I need to make lunches, clean and prep for the next day so I am lucky if I am in bed by 11pm.  I would get up earlier but I do not function well on less than 6 hours of sleep and 6 hours is pushing for me.

I hate no working out too.  I may be a washed up college athlete but I hate this feeling of being out of control of my body.  Thanks for the suggestions, they are really helpful.  I know I need to cut out the mini wheats, they don't keep me full and have too much sugar.

Again, thanks!  This has been helpful and reasuring.

Wow, great thoughts from everyone.  Reading all of this has made me rethink how I am eating.  I know from past experience that if I don't eat right I suffer the consequences with horrible stomach pains.  I should have seen it coming yesterday.  No matter how much I ate I just felt hollow.  By 7:00 I was doubled over.  I need a little more substance that I am currently getting.  I also don't feel that I need to have the 500 cal deficite a day that I wanted.  I don't need to lose a lot of weight so if it takes me a little longer to reach my goal it's okay.

I am also going to look into that book.  Thanks jcreece98. That might be fun for us.

Missionmom123 - I totally feel like I took over your post. I really like what kelrantymus said and it helped change my outlook.  It sounds like are starving yourself.  You are working out like crazy and not replenishing what you've lost.  When I was playing college soccer I remember eating like a pig (and disgusting stuff too) and I never gained an ounce.  With the way you are exercising, you need the calories to keep you going. Think of calories as fuel - you can run on fumes.

Question for all of you.  Due to my schedule I am unable to workout the way I want to.  I do get a decent two mile walk (to and from work) almost every weekday which I have upped in speed.  It is a workout (especially the walk back from work) but it's not enough that I can keep my calorie count below 1500/1600.

I need some suggestions of low calorie, high protein snacks, foods whatever.  Between my husband who has a terrible diet and my daughter who only eats white things, I don't have a lot of options at home.  I am having trouble thinking out of the box.  I've only been doing this for about 3 weeks.  the first two weeks went great but now that my body is adjusting to the food and the walks I am hungry all the time.

Thoughts?

HI everyone - thanks so much for the feedback.  I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond.  RL ya know?

So.. I get the concept.  What I don't get is some of the numbers that are provided to me when my day begins.  Here are my details.  Im 5'5", 135lbs.  I walk two miles 5 days a week at a very brisk pace.  Between CC and my ipod, it says I burn around 230 - 250 calories.  I want to lose 10lbs.

This morning CC gave me these numbers.  Eat Meter - 0 of 1800.  Burn meter - 705 of 1,832.  That second number of my burn meter seems to change on a daily basis.  Where does that number come from?  I guess that's my real question.

Thanks for all of your help!

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
