About

Bio

My name is Alexis, I am 19, from Puerto Rico

I signed up on this site thanks to awesome girlfriend(and inspiration), Andrea.

Around June last year, I was around 195 pounds. I never actually went over 200 pounds before that, but still I did not feel comfortable with my weight.

When I went to Canada in July last year(July 12), I gained quite a bit of weight.

Why? Well...

While there I wasted quite a bit of money on junk food.  Probably more than 250 dollars

I was eating about 15 bacon cheeseburgers(full of mayo and ketchup) from McDonalds each week, sometimes also adding a Milkshake each time

One day I ate 6 bacon cheeseburgers at once, with a milkshake.

The bacon cheeseburgers alone were 330 calories EACH.

In average, I was eating about 3,000 calories IN ONE SITTING, plus breakfast and dinner.

I know, it was quite awful, but those damn things were addictive.

So anyways, in those two months I kept eating lots of junk food like that and went over the 200 pounds.  It wasn't that much, as I went probably like up tp 205 pounds.

I gained just about 5 to 10 pounds, it was pretty weird that I gained just that, but  I guess I was lucky my metabolism was quite fast and I didn't gain as much as I could have had.

Still, I didn't eat good enough at all and I just kept eating fast food crap, and I slowly but surely went up to almost 220 pounds.

This year, by May(Around may 20) I was 215 pounds, and when I got checked up my body fat level was about 22% and my BMI was about 28.4.

Yet I did not know I was already considered MODERATELY OVERWEIGHT.

I still felt good, but I could feel how I got tired easily doing even small silly workouts.  Still I thought I wasn't that bad... I guess we prefer to accept how we are and avoid the issue instead of facing it and fixing it.

Anyways...

This year everything has been different.  Not THAT much, but still.

This year when I went to Canada again (June 12) I was about 207 pounds.

This time around instead of eating 5 or 6 bacon cheeseburgers, I would try 3.

Later, it went down to 2.  Now by just eating two slowly I feel full.

By the time I left Canada(August 28) I was around 204 pounds

So now it has been a few weeks, and I have been trying to lose weight for quite a while, but it is still hard, as here in my house the economical situation is not the best, so we don't have enough money to keep a continuous supply of healthy fruits and foods.   There is the temptation of burgers and hotdogs in the fridge.

I am controlling myself though.  I am trying quite hard since September 5th, working out for at least an hour lifting weights and doing as many workouts as I can.  I don't have workout machines so I am quite limited on what I can do.  Also it doesn't help that I am legally blind and I can't go to the gym.

That is why I am looking forward to this December to move with my awesome girlfriend, she is the source of my new inspiration on working hard and losing weight.  When I move with her to Canada, we will go together to a gym and buy healthy food, avoiding crappy food places like McDonalds.

So I guess this is all I have to say for now(September 7)  hopefully  everything will go good and I shall reach my goal weight(for now) of 189 pounds.  When I get there, I plan on going down more, maybe down to 178 pounds or such.

Anyways, here is my weight history, hopefully I shall see that line going down every week. =P
