Thanks for the advice guys!
I ordered a 5, 10, and 15 lb. Do you think that a 5 lb is too heavy for a total beginner? |

Epinephrine, Get some probiotics! My ex-husband suffered from crohn's disease for years before he started taking some probiotics on a whim. His health has improved drastically! |

Limiting yourself to Happy Meals is a great idea for the OP! You still get that greasy goodness that you crave, but the portion is more appropriate. AND you get a toy! |

It would probably be very difficult to break your habit cold turkey. You could use calorie count to look up various fast food items and pick the healthier choice as a first step to making better choices.
I think the most important issue here isn't your addiction to fast food though, it's the underlying reasons. You need to address your depression first. Sometimes we all need help when things get rough. You are carrying a lot around with you right now. There are lots of things you could try if you are unable or unwilling to see a therapist. I have been doing yoga and making sure I get at least 30 minutes in the sun everyday. It's really been helping me kick my depression. I think that dealing with the depression is the first obstacle to making healthier choices. |

I need to stop eating after 8 pm too. It's tough though, I study late and I love to munch on treats while I study. |

Thegoatherder,
I'm going to go ahead and say that everything in moderation is generally okay. But, empirical evidence points to animal-based products as the cause of most of the degenerative diseases that our society suffers from.

My household has been slowly transitioning to vegan. We eliminated 1 meat at a time until we were only eating dairy and eggs. We started eating more vegan meals every week. We are in the process of becoming eliminating eggs and dairy right now. I didn't want to make the change cold turkey since we needed to learn how to cook vegan, and I thought the change would be too drastic and would make us more likely to give up. I think it's more important to eliminate processed foods from your diet. Being vegan is irrelevant if you only eat ramen and cereal. |

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I also grew up worrying about having enough food, but instead of restricting, I ate more. I have always bounced between overweight and normal weight. Even at a normal weight, I still obsess over food. I think about food constantly. |

Marriage shouldn't be regulated as long as it's between 2 consenting adults that are not related. |

Tom, I would definately give strength training a try, I would love any workout suggestions. DBacker, Thank you for the links, I will check those out. Melkor, I am looking mostly to improve appearance. I have very little muscle tone and a lot of flab. I am primarily trying to lose weight/tone up right now, as well as improve my physical fitness/overall health. I'm mostly just looking to add some extra exercise to my day and haven't figured out what specifically. I only say cardio because I figured that was a good place to start in terms of burning fat. |

Caffeine frequently helps relieve migraines. Most over the counter "migraine relief" products are some combination of tylenol, aspirin, and caffeine. |
