| I was reading about Zantrex 3 because I was interested in taking it too. It contains a tremendous level of caffeine per daily dose. More than 35 cans of Coke, or 12 cups expresso. My friend took it and lost some weight, but she crashed afterwards when she wasn't getting as much caffeine. I had a change of heart. | |||

Nocturne is right. You have to increase food intake if you increase your activity. You still will have burned more calories for the day than what you ate. If you don't it will get harder and harder to exercise at a such an intensity. You will get fatigued and tired faster. I
f you don't eat enough and continue to excersise twice a day, there's a possibility that your body will start burning muscle for fuel and your metabolism can slow down dramatically and stop losing weight even if you keep exercising. It's hard to lose more than 3-4 pounds a week, if you don't want it to be water weight. One pound of fat equals to 3500 calories. To burn one pound of fat per week, you'd have to burn 500 extra calories that you eat per day. 4 pounds lost in a week would mean you'd have to burn 14,000 extra calories that week than what you eat, that would be 2,000 calories a day. Not healthy. Don't forget that you should give your muscles a rest to rebuild themselves or you might injure yourself. |

Great start at the lifestyle change. I recently quit smoking too and it's not easy! Have you ever heard of the term "skinny fat?" I first heard it on this site and it means that you may be thin, but have a high percentage of fat on your body compared to muscle. Your workout routine sounds great to me, but in time you should increase the intensity of your cardio workout. For me, I wasn't able to noticably breathe easier until after 2-3 months of being smoke-free. I smoked for about 6 years.
I'm not sure exactly why you're bloated. Do you think you're retaining water weight, or even constipated? It's embarrassing but that happened to me just after I quit smoking. I've read that quitting smoking can decrease your metabolism a bit and can slow down your GI tract. I think caffeine may also stimulate the GI tract too. Just be very careful with your diet. Don't deprive yourself too much all at once. When I was into counting calories, I ate 1000-1200 cal a day. After 3 days of that I couldn't take it anymore and ate everything that came across my path! Now I give in just a little whenever I have a craving so I won't binge later. Don't give up on the weight training. You won't see results right away, but that's what will give you a sculpted, toned physique, and the cardio will help with fat loss. Good luck! |

I'm so happy there are so many cyclists on this website! You are all inspiring to me and make me want to do better and increase the mileage of my rides. I thought 10 miles was a lot! I also learn so much more recieving advice from real cyclists other than websites trying to sell their products.
I'll set my goal low for now (so I can atleast follow it). I want to ride 3 days a week on the 10 mile bike path at the forest preserve by my house. I bought a bike rack for my car so I can now go alone, instead of putting it in the bed of my fiance's truck when he decides to go (not as much as I want to!). I'll be buying my first pair of bike shorts soon! |

| I absolutely love MTV's Power Yoga. It's a couple years old but I think it's the best I've seen and it's not boring! The end of the DVD also has a 5min pilates workout. | |||

Hi! Count me in. I'm very new at cycling and I recently bought a Schwinn mountain bike. There's a forest preserve near my house with gravel paths, and the main path is a large circle and is 9.5 miles long. Some parts of the path are extreme up and down hill with sharp turns.
It's still a challenging workout for me (fellow cyclists are always passing me!) I already fell off and rolled some distance away from my bike ( I took a wrong turn off path and got stuck between large tire tracks that were indented into the gravel/muddy road, hit the side and flew off my bike)...so I bought a helmet. I'd like to start riding 2 laps soon but I get tired and my legs literally start feeling numb towards the end. My bike is pretty new, and I'm having problems with my gears too. They don't click into place right away, there's usually a grinding sound when I ride. I don't know bike terminology, so I don't understand how I can fix this problem. |

| Yoga builds long, lean muscles. Supporting your own body weight doing yoga with breathing techniques will definitely make you stronger and improve balance. Over time your walk will look more gracefull. I love power yoga. | |||

Hey,
I'd think your exercise routine would do the trick. 45min cardio plus weights for 30min is great. Maybe those last couple pounds will come off your arms and legs. Focus more on toning them to tighten them up. Of course you would still need cardio to help lose the fat too. My body type is opposite. I have great legs and arms but my stomach is a bit flabby. I hate doing crunches though and I rarely do! Keep at it you should see results soon! |

Thanks for the info!!
I sometimes go on google maps to plan new jogging paths and I always hoped there would be someting out there to track the distance. I don't like wasting time checking the distance with my car! Can't wait to check this out! |
