((((HUGS))) your doing great!!!  The good thing is you recognized the bad parts for what they are and will do better the next time.  A "healthy" lifestyle doesn't mean we can't have some of our old favorits once in awhile in "moderation".  Great job on the activity level too.

We all are cheering you on.  :)

I have been following this post for days.  I have wanted to reply so often, but felt that those who were replying had a better handle on the situation and their points were all valid and made lots of since.  But I had a thought and hopefully I can write it down coherently.

I believe with AA they have "intervention" and that is basically how I see what ix is doing.  Usually intervention is done with close family and friends.  The people who are posting about fasting to loose more weight after being 85lbs or Can't understand why they aren't loosing, when they are eating like 8,000 cals a day may have family and friends in the "real" world who don't know what they are doing to themselves.  For those people we may be the closest thing to a good friend.

Maybe for Lith, it isn't the right approach, but maybe for someone else it will be.  If someone is poised on a ledge ready to jump, is it not public.  Do people not stop and look up and offer shouts of encouragement to come off the ledge and live.  Is there not professionals called in to talk this person down.  Is there not some sort of net (if there is time) put in place to catch them if they fall (maybe that is just in the movies).  I liken our community to a "net".  Something out there to offer SUPPORT for the good and bad decisions we may make.  I know we have no professionals here, but there is tons of info that can help steer someone in the right direction.  We can't pick an choose who wants help and who doesn't.  Some may not realize they want help until someone says something that clicks with them.  Maybe it is something they have heard 100 times, but this time it clicks.  Maybe my saying they are Worthy of love and compassion will help over write some of the negative crap they are telling themselves.  So that one day they will HEAR it, maybe not from me, but from someone else.   If we just ignore them, and let them continue hurting themselves then we might as well be condoning their behavior.  One person can not help everyone, but one person standing up and bringing attention to the situation will allow for MANY people to offer encouragement and maybe some guidence so that they will be ready for HELP.  Slappy was right to pull away after awhile.  You just can't do it by yourself and at some point you have to take care of you, too.

I hope I have made some sense.  If not, Erik you know where the delete button is.  You all are wonderful people and am so glad to know that you are on my side and I hope during this journey I am able to offer you the same encouragement that I get from reading all of your posts.

ix, thank you for stepping up.  It takes courage to do what you did and I admire that.  So keep up the good work.  It is much appreciated!!!

Get all the plants that I bought over the month planted.  Not just watered and kept on life support!!!! :)  Oh and pull more weeds out of the garden.  That should do well for exercise today, since the heat index here is going to be over 100.  Don't worry drinking lots of water and will not be out in it after 11am.  :)  But it is already pretty hot out  right now at 8:37am.

Oh, Jules, you haven't lived until you have a little port!!!  YUM!!!!!  You don't feel the kick until it hits your belly.  The port I have is made with brandy (don't know if all ports are made with it).  But it is so smooth and sweet going down and then you feel the heat.  But it isn't too bad nothing to make you run out of the room screaming or anything.  Great on a snowy cold day sitting by the fire.  Don't need alot.  I live around the wine country here in the midwest and love going to the winerys to taste and listen to swing music.

I have never been pg so I can't imagine the frustration you are feeling now with not being able to get your body to do what it did so well before the pg.  But I will say, I do know that having a baby does some strange things to your body.  You might just have to give it more time to recooperate from being pg and labor.  Hang in there and keep getting healthy.  I have heard the last 10 lbs are the worst.  Hope you are feeling better soon.

I went to church as a child.  I loved it until I became a teenager.  I suddenly started thinking for myself and found the particular church I was going to was very hypocritical.  So for awhile, not having any other experience with churches, I became agnostic.  My Dh was an Atheist and he didn't mind telling anyone either.  My husband and I were saved and baptised together in 1996.   We tried a few churches of different denominations.  Found one that seemed to be full of caring people.  Turned out to be "scary cult" like.  The "you are going to hell if you don't believe exactly as I do" thing.  So sad.  We have moved since then and this past year I have been going with friends to a wonderful little church (Free Will Baptist).  These people are truly caring of others and warm and friendly.  They are strong in their beliefs and I find that comforting.  They teach us to love EVERYONE, no matter what their beliefs are.  Church is about fellowshiping and helping us get back in the swing of things when we slip (or keep us from slipping :) as my pastor says).  Kind of like coming here daily to encourage and be encouraged by others, just on a different subject :)

As far as 666 goes.  I think it makes for a good ole fashion horror story :)  06-06-2006 will just be another day for me.  I don't fret much on Friday the 13th either.  I figure what is going to happen will, no matter what day it is.  :)

Thanks rahana316 for this post.  I love learning about other's beliefs.
