I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and work in a hectically busy over-night animal emergency clinic. My husband and I grew up together, started "dating" when I turned 13 (if you can really date when you're 13), and finally got married 3 years ago when he finished school. Together we share our farmhouse and acreage with a menagerie of orphaned and abandoned animals. We have 5 Cats (Faust, Banter, Sullivan, Max Factor, and Lenny ManyToes), 2 full-time dogs (Commander McSausage our Olde English Bulldogge and Doug our Irish Wolfhound mix), 2 foster-dogs (Destinee and Hero, 2 of the sweetest pit-bulls I have ever met that I personally brought back with me from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina), 1 feisty old mare (Greda) and 2 fainting goats (Spookers and Wimpy)...all of whom were either orphaned and hand raised by my husband and I, or abandoned or signed-over at the clinic by owners who either loved them and couldn't afford to treat them, or who wanted to euthanize them because they were tired of them. I also have a large interest in animal behavior and spend a lot of time bottle feeding orphaned animals. Right now we have a litter of 3 raccoon kits that we will raise until they are old enough to be released. My foster dog Destinee has decided they are her babies and the 3 little raccoons follow her around like ducklings follow their mom. Adorable!
