I agree with what most are saying in their replies. If you are doing 70 reps you are accomplishing nothing or maybe not much.  In order for your muscles to grow they have to be challenged, at 70 reps they are not being challenged in the least. Yes, you do want muscles as you know muscle burns calories.  But I have often read that 80% of weight loss is diet.  Scrutinized everything you eat, write it down. You will be surprised at the number of calories you eat. But you also don't want too eat so little that you slow down your metabolism.  Again, weight training is the way to go. Muscles will help speed up your metabolism.  Personally, I had done lots of cardio in the past, going through the motions of the weight machines at the gym, took up running 5Ks, hiking, biking, have always been fairly active, but it wasn't until I got serous about weight training (lifting heavy, where my muscles  actually noticed the difference), did the weight start to come off, of course coupled with a change in diet.  Good luck, don't give up, also check out Oxygen magazine, my personal favorite women's fitness publication.

OMG!  We obsess about our weight and now we have to obsess about grammar and/or typos on a forum.  Holy cow!

I have heard that if you would not criticize or correct someones grammar while talking to them face to face, you should not do it on line/by e-mail either.

Just do the right thing, bite your tongue (or fingers), it willl be alright. Your day will be just fine even if you spot a grammatically incorect/misspelled word.

As you can tell by the posts, we all seem to fluctuate from day to day. It is important to weigh yourself at the same time of day, wearing (or not wearing) about the same type of clothing each time.  However, I would not  go a whole month before weighing again.  You don't have to weigh as often as I do, 5 days a week, but definitely at least one day a week, just so that you can keep the weight in check and not have perhaps an unpleasant surprise at that monthly weigh in.

Here's my 2 cents worth.  After I come into work, I log onto my computer and while waiting for it to upload, I go weigh myself. (I work in a doctor's office.) I log the weight on a calendar, and yes it does vary from day to day; for me up to a 3 lb difference.  At the end of the 5-day work week, I average the weights and that is what I consider my true weight to be.  As long as the weight keeps going in a downward direction, even a few ounces, I am happy.

Weight Loss Eating on Easter Mar 30 2010

As I'm reading these posts, I'm thinkig holy crap. It's no wonder we are so fat! We just use holidays as another excuse to pig out and overindulge.  I'm not saying we should avoid partaking, but come on, what's wrong with being reasonable, watching portion sizes. You don't have to eat everything that is laid out before you.  Overindulging in easter candy??? What are we, 10 year olds??? Right now it's Easter, then it will be the after schools out fest, then mayby start of summer binge, night out with the girls, don't forget that big 40th (30th, 50th, etc) birthday party, the 4th of July pig out, etc etc.  How about just enjoying the company and eating reasonably.

I just started a spinning class (stationary bike) at the Y.  Awesome cardio! As you are not close to a gym, is it possible for Santa to bring you a bicycle or a stationary bike for Christmas? Low impact and I think your feet will be able to handle it.
