I Love the puffs, and you are right they are great to add to trail mix (or high calorie cereal if you want to eat a bit more) They also have Gerber Wagon Wheels in Tomato and Veggie, they are about 30 calories for 6 and can really help if you have a craving for cheese curls! Also and this is really strange to buy but the Gerber lil sides really are helpful since I am just cooking for myself, if I want some mashed potatoes they are perfect size small side and have only around 150 calories I think, its so easy and you dont have tempting leftovers to deal with! |

I know this post is probably too late since you probably already had your cookout. But I wanted to share a great recipe I made today for a family cookout. Mango salsa, chopped mangos, tomatoes, onions, avocado, red, green and yellow peppers, lime juice, cilantro, pinch of garlic, pepper and salt. A little ginger powder and a tbsp of oj. Sliced up some whole wheat pitas, bake until crisy in the over and voila some homemade chips and salsa with a tropical twist. |

I had to reply to this topic as Hummus is one of my favorite foods! It is def a great source of fiber, healthy fats and nutrients, but like nuts, pb and guacamole the calories can add up and I have a hard time portion controlling it. I have made my own lighter version with less tahini, and fat free sour cream instead to reduce some of the fat. Not as great tasting tho.... |

In my heavy junk food days, fast food was a popular choice. At McDonalds I would get a quarter pounder, chicken nuggets and FF and sometimes an extra cheeseburger! I also ate bags of Salt and Vinegar potato chips alot, not the fun size but the family size ones, also Cool Ranch Doritos (Im still too nervous to even get the 100cal packs b/c Im afraid Id eat the whole box) |

Usually I pack an enormous amount of food for my work day. I leave my house at 6:45 and don't get home until 6:30pm so I guess I need all the food but people joke about the insane amount I bring. (It helps prevent vending machine/breakroom snack trips which are filled with pastries and junk) B: Thomas 100cal bagel w/ ff cream cheese, 1 cup of mixed berries S: Chocolite bar L: Salad w/ imatation crab, shrimp, lettuce, mushrooms and pickles w/ FF balsamic dressing. S: dannon carb control yogurt and some special K cereal S: Special K 90 cal bar and 100 cal pack of veggie chips |

| Foods | Why is the nutritional information for canned beans always off? | May 14 2008 14:36 (UTC) |

I believe the weight listed on canned beans is for nutritional data for unrinsed and drained beans, by rinsing and draining you are increasing the serving size for 100 calories.
Um does that make sense? |

Im a HUGE fan of the Dannon Carb Control Yogurts, (I think they will be fazed out though eventually). I really just like them because of the taste, not because im against carbohydrates. It has 3 grams of fat which gives it a creamy taste but only 60 calories. Fage and Oikos 0% are also very good. |

I think what helped me ease into eating more fat(I had bad skin and no period) was eating foods that had a decent amount of fat in them but still not super high in calories to give your body time to adjust. Your probably coming from a virtually fat free diet so the adjustment is tough and you need to start small and build your tolerance up. Great products included almond milk, avocado, raw nuts, Dannon carb control yogurt (3grams per cup) and regular eggs these are very nutritious foods and will provide your body healthy fats and vital nutrients. |

I used to despise FF cream cheese, but now buy it and add herbs and spices (like dill) to the tub and it gives it a nice flavor. Same thing with FF mayo I add some mrs. dash to it and it gives such a nice taste!

| Foods | 100 Calorie Packs? | May 03 2008 03:29 (UTC) |

Blue Diamond does sell 100calorie natural almond packs and they are quite good! I would like to see prepopped 100calorie popcorn bags at convience stores etc, this way if I purchase a sandwich I could buy a portion controlled bag of chips to accompany it. Glennys does offer spud d'lights for 100 calories which are good just hard to find. The baked lays would also be nice in 100 calorie bags b/c if I buy a single serve bag at a convience store it still has 210 calories in it.
