I crave salt. So much so that I eat pretzel salt right out of the 2 lb. jar I ordered it in. I've tried giving it up for lent numerous times and still have been unable to break the addiction. They say you can break a habit in 21 days. I've been unable to break this one 6 weeks at a time. Any helpful ideas is appreciated.

Eat, but eat something you don't really want like a fruit or vegetable. That way you're getting something healthy while reminding yourself your not really hungry just upset.

I have yet to see anyone in Maryland actually do the speed limit (other than myself) let alone driving 10 miles under it. Their usual MO is a minimum 20 miles over it while erratically changing lanes to pass cars so they don't have to step on their brakes.

For my chocolate fix I keep regular M & M's handy. Thirty pieces are only 103 calories and I can spread their consumption out over a period of time.

When I crave something at night, especially after completing my food log for the day, I grab a dill pickle spear. The crunch, dill and slightly salty flavor satisfies many aspects of the craving and it's only 5 calories per spear.

I've tried both Britta and Pur filters and I'll take Pur over Britta any day. Much better taste.

Quite frankly I think you should pay something towards room and board in addition to the "cleaning" you do.

I don't understand why women feel the need to expose as much of their body as possible. Whatever happened to class and modesty?

Okay, thank you. That means I need to weigh before cooking to accurately count my calories. Unfortunately that doesn't help me with the calorie count on what I've already cooked but it is nice to know it's not as bad as I originally thought.

I want to thank everyone for their input and suggestions. I will check them out thoroughly as time permits.

Two months ago I decided that I needed to start eating healthier. And while cutting out the junk and fast food, cutting down on bread and eating more fruit could be considered eating healthier, I still have not added sufficient vegetables. However, as of today I have lost 25 lbs. so I'm hoping I am headed in the right direction and the rest will come with time.

With a $ 3000.00 deductible I'm not one to run to the doctor. (That's why I've been trying the supplements.) However, a blood test last September did reveal that I was anemic which is why I added the iron. Hasn't seemed to help. I'm still tired all the time. I can wake up at 6:00 am and want a nap by 9:00am and that's after getting more than 8 hours of sleep the night before. It's even worst in the winter months when it gets dark so early. The joint supplements provided no relief for my ache joints. Hopefully they'll work better for the dog. Basically it seems I'm putting out money for stuff that isn't helping in any way, shape or form. Thus my question, are supplements a waste of money?

What a fabulous post. You've hit the nail right on the head about these weight loss companies that hawk their wares for the almighty dollar. That's why I was so delighted to find this site. It's free. Everything here is geared to help me succeed in becoming healthier. Finally someone who cares about people and not the buck. Oh, I'm sure they are making money. But they are doing it off the advertisers. It's about time someone made money off of them instead of the other way around.
