*installs park bench for Steve*

That looks lovely but may I suggest one of these?

They would look better in a cob hobbit village.  Not quite as comfy, though.

Still no vacay on the horizon for me.  Dull boy.

you LIVE in Florida.  Every Saturday could be a vacation for all we know.

I live in Boston... better yet, just New England in general, where every Saturday in April could be a monsoon, a snow storm, or 85 degrees like it's supposed to be THIS weekend. ;)

I work on Saturdays.  Sunday I do consider a vacation day.  The bad thing is Monday always comes after.

Life without vacation is life half-lived.

That makes me a half-life.  Better than being a low-life.

I get no vacation this year.  Again.  I believe that makes 3 or 4 years in a row.

4 years for me, too.

There are no homeless in the cob hobbit village.  You shall get your own hole and the paint color of your choice for the front door.

No, I mean my own park bench just for hanging out and drinking coffee in the morning.  Can I have a window at each end of my hole?  Cross-ventilation, you know.

There's a pick up line you don't hear every day.  :D

Heh.  Well, I walked right into that.

Pavvy,

Duck, Duck, Goose = caramel ice cream with caramel swirl and peanut butter chocolate candy

Salty Dog = vanilla with chocolate covered pretzels

Myrtle Turtle = caramel ice cream with cashews

Is it poor form to drool all over yourself and desk?

No.  I did the same.

a stem from one of the leaves in my salad is stuck on the back of my tongue.  it is rather distressing.

my vitamin just rotated itself midway through being swallowed and went down sideways.  not pleasant at all.

have you ever swallowed a pill where the outer shell broke and it left a trail of vitaminy stuff down your throat, almost choking you to death?

That happened to me one time.  It was quite scary.

After getting a hair cut every two weeks at a different barber shop for the past 2 months, I finally found a barber I like.

Who wouldathunk that getting a simple hair cut would be so hard?

It is hard.  I've been going to the same guy for 12 years, but he's just lost his ability to cut hair and he's too stubborn to admit it.  So I'm in the market now for a new barber.  He screwed up my hair big time the last time I was there.  I looked like Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and Dumber.

Sorry for bringing up a 30-minute-old post, but I find this subject interesting.

mmm thai...

i haven't had thai in forever! we've been trying to cut back on the take-out to save money.

weddings aren't cheap! though i suppose some of my tastes not being cheap are part of the problem.

i <3 your save the date.  it is proudly displayed on my fridge.  my roomie had a coniption fit about "EVERYONE GETTING MARRIED" but I'm pretty sure it's because no one invited her to any of them.  Heh.

Ah, yes.  The Marriage Tsunami.  I remember the one for my generation.   It was a blast.

There was talk of that when my gf's sister got married a few years back.  Their brother talked about how this was set off all these other weddings and all this.  There were no other weddings, and her sister has since divorced.

I think he just envisioned a series of open bars.

In two months, we'll be up to our necks in thunderstorms.  And SSS is right.  They're great as long as you're not on the road.

I'm the one who asked Steve to elaborate.

...can I be flogged??? Please??

No no no.  You asked for elaboration, and I chose to provide it, knowing it could get ugly (but hoping it wouldn't).  It's not your fault.

Look, I'm not being quite fair to you, but I'm at least going to explain part of why.

Do you know anybody who's had a really serious battle with anorexia?  I do.  What you said made me think of her when we didn't know if she was going to get better.  It made me want to punch you because it's the same effing type of thing she used to think about herself.

Karen Carpenter is most well known for dying from anorexia these days.  She just is.  Had you picked a different example, I probably wouldn't have been mad and would have just called you out for claiming to know what all guys think.  You know, the usual thing.

I'm sorry that you had no idea what you were walking into there, but I don't think it was an appropriate thing to say either way.

I appreciate you laying that out there.  And I'm sorry for bringing out something that hit so close to home for you.

I would never go after someone for a disorder, and didn't intend to do so with Karen Carpenter.

It's funny.  I've lived in Florida my whole life, and have never been to the Keys.  I want to ride my bike down there, one end to the other, four days.

That would be an awesome bike trip!

I've seen Youtube video of a couple of guys who made the trip.  Couldn't quit watching.

The only think that might freak me out is being on the 7-mile bridge on a bike.  Awesome, yet a bit scary.

That's the one part I'm not looking forward to.  That's a long time with nowhere to go and traffic too close.

sounds too hot and humid for me.

I'm thinking early March or sometime in early November would be just right.  Not too hot, comfortable at night, and not too many tourists.

3 DIY Tortilla Tricks
I love Mexican food—tacos with crispy shells, crunchy taco bowls and salty tortilla chips. But I could do without the extra calories, fat and sodium in the salty, often deep-fried tortillas served at many restaurants or the less-than-healthy packaged versions of these foods sold in the supermarket.
