Ahhhhh you guys I'm so mad at myself. i just finished a two day binge. i honestly thought i was over all that .. i have never felt so ashamed of myself. oh well i guess i just need to carry on and get back on track with my goals .. i just hate feeling like i have no self control. i dont even like the taste of the foods i binge on. junk food doesnt even appeal to me. i hate depression and i hate that i suck at dealing with life. One main cause of my depression has been my mothers illness and it really isnt helping that everyday i see her getting weaker and weaker. I feel so discouraged but hopefully I havent done too much damage. I still have a goal of 124 lbs by the end of June which is definitely reachable .. because I was at 122 .. and even with the binge I hopefully will be able to get back down to 124 as soon as i lose this water weight. Sorry for the rant. How are you guys all doing?

Woah .. ok so I just got home this morning .. and I've been out with friends all weekend so my calories have been a bit higher .. but I weighed myself and the scale said 122? .. that would mean that I'm down 3 lbs this week which makes no sense .. so I think I'm going to weigh myself again tomorrow to see if it was maybe just a fluctuation!

Hey guys! Where is everybody? haha come on, we gotta keep this group going! Well I've managed to lose 2 lbs since the beginning of June which I'm quite happpy with. But the weight isn't really what I care about-- I can feel myself becoming stronger and more toned!! I'm starting to feel more confident and I'm back to doing something I LOVE - dancing! I'm still staying above 1600 calories and I'm not letting food and dieting take over my life .. when I go to restauraunts I just ask for sauces on the side, a water to drink, etc. Usually I will order a chicken club sandwich .. but I ask for no bacon, no mayo, and no cheese .. haha but thats mainly because those are my 3 least favourite foods .. so it becomes more like a chicken, lettuce, and tomato sandwich on whole wheat bread .. and I will substitute fries for a salad (dressing on the side) or fresh veggies! I will also order pizza and stuff like that or chicken/salmon/lean beef dishes... I just eat until I'm full.. which is usually after about 1/2 of the meal. Anybody else have good tips for eating out that they would like to share?

PS. I really don't want this to become one of those ridiculous starvation groups that are completely irrational and unrealistic.. not to mention the fact that eating too little is SO dangerous to your health. So if anybody plans on going about weight loss in an unhealthy manner .. I would rather you not post about it on here .. and honestly it isn't worth it .. because by restricting calories you are setting yourself up for major problems in the future. Please don't fall into that trap. I really good friend of mine has been in the hospital for four months now and is unable to walk because of what started out as a "diet". As teens we really need to be focusing on our health and what our bodies need!! I am willing to support anybody who is planning on doing this the healthy way!

Okay guys! I've been so busy this weekend & I havent been home since Friday .. so I weighed myself this morning andd.. I'm at 125! I'm so happy .. especially since I know that I'm not losing the weight by starving myself. I've been getting at least 1600 calories everyday and I feel so good. Yesterday I was with my friends and we went out for dinner which was really fun & after, we went to dairy queen so i treated myself to a vanilla ice cream cone!I had about 1800 calories which is still really good considering I did an hour of hot yoga yesterday as well! Today is father's day & I have a big fam jam to go to! I hope everybody had a good dayy and keep up the good work everyone!!

Aw man I couldn't do my weigh in this morning because I was so busy getting ready for my exams today .. I will weigh in and measure tomorrow morning though.. I PROMISE haha good job you guys! and omgness trust me .. it is so worth it to eat more calories because your metabolism won't slow down & you will be able to eat more. This isn't a race!so don't worry if it isn't coming off right away! and i think the longer weight takes to lose.. the more likely you are to keep it off.

Personally, I've been making it a goal of mine to stay above 1600 calories .. and obviously I have more if I am more active. I'm really anxious to see how much I weigh tomorrow morning!

Hey everybody! I love all of this input!! The more motivation, the better!

Ok, so I've been upping my protein quite a bit.. like I'm making sure to get at least 90grams everyday because I'm trying to build muscle. I've noticed that protein rich foods really keep me full. An example of what I eat would be

Breakfast- 2 poached eggs (I like the yolk reeeeallly runny) on a whole wheat english muffin with some sort of fruit like strawberries

Snack- an apple ( I have 1 apple everyday)

Lunch - a sandwich with 2 slices country harvest 12 grain bread and tuna and avocado mixed (sooo good) or with turkey slices and tomato

Snack- cottage cheese with some veggies or plain organic yogurt with some kashi golean cereal

Dinner- a lot of nights I will have chicken breast with sweet potato and steamed cauliflower and broccoli, or whatever my family is having... whole wheat pasta, etc.

Snack - kashi peanut butter granola bar (7 grams of protein and all natural) with a cup of skim milk

btw, wallcow that milkshake looks sooo good.. i love bananas! I'll definitely be trying it. So what do some of your meal plans look like? Maybe if we post them, it will give us some good ideas!

I'm really loving this- I can physically see and feel a difference in my body & I've decided to start up a bit of weight lifting along with dancing, yoga, and some running in order to really tone up!

Weigh-ins are coming up! I hope we all see some progress!

ok so I weighed myself this morning & im 127 lbs. At first I was confused, but then I thought about it ... and last time I weighed myself which was after my last binge... on Saturday.. I was 128. Plus I've been soo bloated this week... is it maybe my muscles retaining water? I did my measurements as well... and i got:

Chest: 33.5 inches

Waist (at my belly button.. so pretty low): 29 inches

Hips: 38 inches ( oooh man ahaha)

I don't know if i measured my waist at the right part... like it wasnt at the smallest part of my body.. but I'll just keep measuring there anyways.

My Goals are to eventually get my hips down to maybe 35 inches? and i think that 26 inches would be good for my waist.

Hey guys! Weigh-ins tomorrroww!!

I am in SO much pain. I just had dance for the last 2 nights and oh maan i am soo out of shape haha. I feel soooo good right now though! How bout you guys? What are you doing for exercize?

Btw, thanks meep! & for motivation i just look at old pictures of myself when I was really happy with my body. I also have a bunch of old and some new clothes( like a year old) that I really like but are a size or so too small or don't fit me good & I think I'm going to pick a target outfit or something and just try it on every 2 weeks or every month or something.

I'm so excited just to lose the first 5 pounds. 5 lbs that I hope I never see ever again!

Wow! I honestly wasn't expecting so many replies! I'm definitely up for having a motivational buddy group here! I was thinking of weighing and measuring myself this Friday.. is anybody else up for it? p.s i did my first dance class in 2 years, it felt SO good. I'm so motivated right now to do this! Alright I think we should share some of our tips:

I setout goals for myself everyday.. like i need to drink 3 litres of water, I need to eat at least 1600 calories, more if I am active, and I need to get at least 30 minutes of exercise! Plus my motivation is every 5 lbs lost I'll give myself a reward!

5 lbs = buy a new book (haha i love reading)

10 lbs = manicure/pedicure

15 lbs = buy some new jeans

How about you guys, how do you keep yourselves motivated!?

p.s I'm not usually on this website, let alone even awake at this time haha but those dance classes gave me so much energy. Oh man I'm going to be sooo sore tomorrow, I can feel it .

I know that we can do this if we keep eachother motivated =)

I'm pretty similar to you, 5'6 16ys old but i weigh about 126-128ish.

I'm a pretty small frame, so I've looked good at 105 for my height, but I've made a goal of about 115. If i don't get there I don't mind but I'm just looking to up my exercise and tone up .. and I'm just like you.. a really healthy eater.. but I have my days- i don't eat junk food but i eat ALOT. I'm willing to join you!! The healthy way! How many calories are you maintaining your weight on? if you dont mind me asking. Because I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how much I should be eating.

I'm definitely willing to be your buddy =) especially if it means ill get rid of this extra weight I'm carrying!

I actually do hot yoga myself. It definitely helps with muscle tone, just make sure you drink a lot of water because it makes you sweat like crazy. I find that my skin almost looks like its glowing after i do a class. You should definitely try it!

It's good to hear that you're recovering. If you need any support or anything then you can always just message me. I was thinking 1500 should be good for me. It seems low but I'm really not that active & i don't know if this sounds stupid but I don't think I'm one of those people who was meant to eat a lot. All of the women in my mom's family are thin and healthy...but they really don't eat all that much. Maybe it isn't in my genes to have a fast metabolism.

I have the whole stomach pooch thing going too. Pretty annoying. As for my favourite diet food. I don't really eat 'diet' foods, I just try to eat really naturally and healthy. I eat fruit like it is going out of style- ESPECIALLY grapes & apples.i loooove baked sweet potato. almond butter is really good too & all bran buds in organic natural yogurt. & i could pretty much live on homemade soup for the rest of my life haha. Green Tea is also definitely a favorite of mine.

Hey!

I just had a blood test for the exact same problem. Don't worry, your doctor will know what to check for. I'm pretty sure I got checked for estrogen and stuff. If there's something that is really stressing you out in your life that could be it. At least that is what my doctor said mine was. Don't worry haha its not too big of a deal.

Hope that helped..somewhat =)

Thanks for replying you guys!

maefilly, oh man yoga is probably my favourite thing to do. What kind do you do? I do hot yoga & it honestly makes me feel so good...like if i miss it for a week i feel so crappy. & i love running too.. buut i definitely dont have the motivation to go for a run when theres  2 feet of snow haha but ill probably start up again when it warms up.

cytokine, thanks for your support and advice. i know that other people don't see me as overweight, but i'm a bit of a perfectionist, & i know what my body is capable of looking like, so I tend to be a little bit critical of myself.

I definitely don't want to drop a ton of weight really quickly or develop any type of eating disorder because two of my very close friends have been through it & i've seen how terrible it is. One of them has been in the hospital for 2 months now, unable to even walk.

So i definitely think we should start a little support/ motivation group.

PS How many calories are you guys eating to maintain?

& what are your target areas? mine are my face!( i swear thats where all my weight went haha) and my stomach/ hips - hardest place to lose.)

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
