Thanks new buddy.  I honestly DO these things.  Then life smacks me upside the head and I start dropping all the balls I'm juggling.  I always seem able to pick up the family or the career or the house balls....but not the ME ball......

Calorie Count Calorie Camp may not be the best thing Jul 05 2012

I like it....but...as littlesumo said above, everyone has a bad day...and the camp should be a place where you can kinda journal how you're feeling...I feel it helps others with their own struggles to know "hey I'm not alone"...

That being said, what really bothers me about the camp is the people who continually eat 1,200 OR BELOW....and I mean they do this every single day....I find that very disheartening and quite frankly, it makes me feel like a pig to see someone eating so little and here I am, honestly weighing and measuring and calculating and analyzing and eating my appropriate 1,700 cals/day.

I now "unsupport" those with unhealthy eating habits...I've tried numerous times to reach out to help but have been cyber slapped in the face...so I just click "unsupport" and carry on my happy way Wink

it's true, sometimes they're a necessary evil.  Now that I work out of my home, I feel I have no excuse not to have something fresh and "home made" every day.  I like calisue's suggestion of big batch cooking and freezing.  I don't like to eat the same thing for lunch that I had the night before...but waiting a day or two is usually ok and I can be confident knowing what is in the lunch I'm eating.

It's great because it's convenient and easy.

It sucks when you want to go out for an evening.  Or you register for daycare.

Motivation the plateau - HELP! Jun 17 2012
23:13 (UTC)
17

Undecided...have to disagree re no such thing as a plateau...I've been stuck at 168lbs for 6 weeks now, AND have a calorie deficit AND get all my fibre from veggies, and eat at least 2 fruits a day...mind you, I've lost 42lbs since December...so I think our bodies hit a certain weight and just get comfy there for a bit after a big loss...this happened to me in the past and unfortunately I got frustrated because I was only focussing on the scale rather than the tape measure, or how my clothes were fitting, or basically just how I was feeling.

Hang in there....maybe go back to your old food logs, or journals, or even photos and try to recapture that spark that made you start in the first place...you can do it!

I hate when this happens...and it happens to everybody (honest).

The biggest thing is realizing that you're turning to food for comfort.  Sometimes what helps me is to tell myself "I don't need _____.  I know what ____ tastes like.  What I need is to go for a walk/take a hot bubble bath/call a friend/journal.

It works....most times Tongue out

Being prepared is another biggie.  I'm no good at winging it if I don't plan and log all my food the night before.  I like to log everything, click the "analysis" tab and make sure I'm hitting all my targets...and adjust things if I'm not.  Then I can face the day, confident that I'm on track.

Hang in there...
