Ok I just went and measured now because I'm curious:

Chest: 38"

Waist: 27.5"

Hips: 38.5"

Shoulders: 40"

 

So what does that mean then?

How is hourglass defined?  My chest and hip measurments are about the same, with my waist about 10 inches smaller.  I think this is hourglass?  Am I right?

Wow thanks for all the posts!  Right now I'm 5'2" and 135 (down from 180) and I'm just trying to envision kind of what I'll look like to give me the oomph to loose the last 25!!!  Its soooooo hard.  I was almost there last spring/summer (2008) - I got down to 120 and then I put 15 pounds back on in the last few months!  Its sooooo discouraging.  Now I really am trying to get back on track so I can look better for Christmas! 

Anyone have any tips on maintaining when you are at your desired weight?  I'm thinking that might be difficult...  considering I was at 120 and bombed back to 135.

Hi, I can relate, except I gained the 15 pounds over the course of a month.  I'd been doing so well, I dropped just over 30 pounds in 5 months, was looking nice and toned, then for some reason a month ago I lost it and I've been eating pretty much whatever and however much I want.  And not excercising.  And now I'm 15 pounds heavier.  Its so discouraging. 

Anyone have any tips to help me get back into this?  I was only 10 pounds away from my goal weight, now I've popped back up to 25 pounds away from my goal.  Help please?!

Its going down!  I'm so excited!  Only 2 more pounds to go by the 11th!  Keep up the good work everybody!

So I have another question - when you calculate your BMR, do you put in the weight you are at now or the weight you want to be? 


Because I'm at 125, looking to get down to 110.  I haven't lost anything for a few months, and in the BMR I put 125 (my current weight) to try and figure out what my BMR is, so I know how many calories to eat...


Basically what I'm wondering is, what weight do you put in the BMR calculator - current weight or goal weight?  And if you're pretty close to your goal weight - should it just be the goal weight in there to figure it out?

What is a good way to get a lot of protein (to build muscles) on 1200 calories a day?

I am 5'2", 125 pounds looking to get down to 110.  I am eating 1200 calories a day (more or less) and I think I need to be getting more protein. 


Also, I seem to be at a plateau.... for the last couple of months.  Should I eat less than 1200 calories a day to continue loosing?  Still eat 1200 and just try and exercise more?

I have this exact same problem!  I don't know what to do either. 

 

I have been trying drinking something called Organic Smooth Move Senna herbal stimulant laxative tea - has anyone tried it or heard anything about it?  I don't want to drink it if it will wreck my body. 


Also, are stool softeners considered a laxative?  I've been trying those lately.  It doesn't say laxative anywhere on the bottle, just stool softener.

Short term goal weight by July 11; 118 pound

Thank you both for replying! 

I'd figured it out according to my weight, goals, ect... on some sort of calculator. 


So the carbs are probably ok then to be between 50 and 60%. 


What is wrong with my lunch?  I was thinking I needed to do something different too, but I don't know what.


About the fat, I figured there would be enough fat in the stuff I'm eating to get fat.  (well my objective is to loose fat, so shouldn't I stay away from it?).  Sometimes I put butter on my english muffin, but I didn't today.

Thank you for all of your reply's!  I tried running again this morning, doing the breathing and slowing my pace and it was sooooooo much better.  I did start to get a stitch, but I slowed down, and tied my jacket tight around my waist and that helped. 


Do the stitches ever go away?

I'm in too!  I have 13 pounds left to loose but 5 in 5 weeks sounds great to me!

I've recently been on a 3 month plateau at 125 and I think the plateau may be broken..... since I'm down to 123 now.  I hope so!

I went on a plateau 3 months ago and I've been sitting at 125 for 3 months. 

Now My Current: I weighed in at 124 this morning.... maybe my plateu is broken!  Yippee!

Goal weight: 110

I read the article too and I didn't understand what they were saying to do exactly... and I'm wondering what you did to get out of your 2 month plateu??  I have also been in a 2 month plateu, and I am still in it and I don't know how to get out! 

 

So what did you do to get out of it?
