Weight Loss I am literally starving and I don't know why! I just ate 2 hours ago Mar 28 2013

Maybe you need something? I sometimes get hungry quickly if I haven't ate enough carbs, protein, fat, whatever. The body craves food when it needs nutrients or bulk not just when it needs calories

If you eat almost perfect nutrient wise then eat some more. The body knows what it's doing ;)

Eat more girl. 1200 is way to little. Eat at least 1800 a day.

Eat, eat, eat!

Maintaining Ladies: do your thighs touch? Mar 28 2013

Mine touch and they always will. I have too much inner thigh muscle for there to be anymore space. IF I were to get a thigh gap I should stop lifting heavy and there no way in life I'd ever do that :)

Maintaining calories to maintain not right! Mar 28 2013

1300 to maintain a day is too little. Depending on your age and activity level you should be maintaining somewhere between 1700 and 2200 calories WITHOUT exercise. Try eating a little more everyday or something like that, until you reach about 1800 a day. That should be good for you.

Maintaining How to maintain, but also tone up?? Mar 28 2013

It depends a lot on what you want.

If, lets say, you would like to get a bigger, more toned butt, then I would tell you to eat at a 200 calorie surplus while training legs 1-2 times a week. That means lifting heavy. This would allow you to build more muscle. (If this is the case, you should know that building muscle takes A LOT of time!)

If you are just trying to tone, then just eat healthy at your maintaince and lift heavy, just tina0367 said. If you don't have access to a gym you will need to do some body weight exercises. There are plenty depending on what muscle groups you want to train. You can either use this site, google or youtube it, and you'll find lots! Good luck!

Maintaining When to Maintain if Lifting Mar 28 2013

It depends really. When bikini competitors are prepping for shows and eat to lose only body fat, they eat very very close to maintaince, almost maintaince really, but keep a really strict diet. This way you'll lose body fat without losing muscle. It is possible but I would never do that myself though as it's really hard to keep up. I am only saying this to let you know that deficits aren't always that important really.

I also try to keep a 500 calorie deficit, and try to let it be mostly from cardio. I also make sure to eat as healthy as possible (obviously;) ) to give my body everything it needs, both for sheeding weight but also to fuel the workouts. That way I lose mostly fat. I am not sure it it made that much sense really, but I hope so! Good luck with it! :) You can also PM me if you got any questions!

Maintaining What should I do to maintain my weight Mar 28 2013

Figuring out how many calories someone need is always hard as it has a lot to do with body fat %, activity level beyond exercise and so on. Since you are young and exercise I would say that you should try eating about 2300 calories to maintain. If you lose weight, eat some more and see how that goes, if you lose do the opposite. It's no more complicated than that really :)

Good exercise plan, and your meals are looking really healthy too! Maybe eat some more veggies to get more vitamins but that would be it.

If you don't lose or gain on this amount, then yes, it's a good amount for you. If you gain, then try decreasing it, and if you lose, do the opposite. It's no harder than that! :)

Maintaining toning tummy Mar 28 2013

I hate to be the one to bring the bad news, but stomach exercises won't help with that. To get abs, flat tummy, or whatever you are aiming for you must lose the fat first! It sound like you are already trying to do that, so that's great!

I don't have any real scientific prof for this, but I have found that when I, and everyone else I ask, just eat healthy, we tend to lose more fat in the tummy region. If you think about it, it makes quite a lot of sense too. Looks are there too show the males if you are healthy or not. A small waist (less fat in the tummy) is both a sign of attractiveness (I am not saying that people with fat on the tummy aren't attractive!!!!) and health. I don't know if I am talking **** here, if I am I'm sorry :)

Just eat healthy and exercise, find a way to live that you can sustain and that you are happy with and the results will show sooner or later! :) Good luck!

If find that everytime I reach my weight loss goals (or decide to maintain) my body is always having a bit of a hard time adjusting to it. Just take it easy and don't freak out, that's the worst thing you can do. Don't obsess so much over the calories either.. I know that most people on here says it's all about 'calories in - calories out', but it's a bit more complicated than that. Just focus on eating as healthy as you can, and that'll be good! Workout for 30 min a day, but do it for the health benefits, not to burn calories. This way it'll be more fun too, trust me!

Congratz on your weight loss btw. That must have been a truly amazing journey! :)

Maintaining whats your body fat % Mar 28 2013

Mine is about 17-19%, differs a lot according to how much I exercise and how well I eat. I haven't lost my boobs though. Still an 34C.

Anyway for anyone using the only calculators, don't. They are just stupid. Many of them only use some measurements around your body. They don't take into consideration if your 37 inch booty is fat or muscle and so on. The scales that measure body fat are better but still far from correct as they count water and food as lean weight, and if you aren't completely emptied they'll be wrong. I am not sure about clothe but exercise makes the muscle retain water so that will affect it too for sure!

Weight Loss Can you help me with my weight loss plan? basically teach me what you know about losing weight Mar 23 2013

Do what you find fits you and your lifestyle. Of course, find out how many calories you burn in a day and start out by eating about 500 less than that. That should make you lose about 1 pound per week.

When it comes to exercise, do as much as YOU find into YOUR lifestyle. Sometimes you wont have time to exercise and that's perfectly okay. After all living is much more important than just losing the weight. With that said, I would aim for about 3-4 days a week maybe. If that is too much then start out with 1 day or to days, just to get started. I personally burn about 200-700 calories per gym session, but again, that's just me and it depends a lot and what you do, how long you do it and at what resistance. And your weight for that matter. Again, just find an exercise that you like to do and stick with it. It doesn't really matter if you burn 100 calories or 1000 calories if you just stick with it, and sticking to it is much easier if you like the activity.

Consistency is what will bring you results in the long run so you have to figure out what works best for you!

Health & Support Am I still restricting? Mar 23 2013

If you do not need to lose weight are recovering or what not, and you count your one slice of banana, then yup, you are restricting.

Try eating when you are hungry, when your body tells you to, instead of when meal times and calories do. After all your body knows best what's needed.

Weight Gain dangerously skinny!! Mar 23 2013

I've had this problem before so I know how hard and frustrating it can be. There are some things you can do though.

Try eating more healthy fats. They are an awesome and easy way to get some more calories in if that's what needed. Avocado, olive oil, peanut butter and nuts in general are a super source of fat and they are very healthy for you! Also, if you tend to eat the diet or low calories, low fat versions of food, stop that. They are not good for you anyway, just loaded with something else.

Health & Support do I drink too much water?? Mar 23 2013

The kidneys can only handle a specific amount of water before going into failure. That point should be around the 6 liters a day. If you feel thirsty for all those liters of water maybe you should go to your doctor. There could be an underlying course :)

3 liters a day should keep your perfectly hydrated without being too much at all.

I stopped and started trying to eat intuitive eating instead. Actually that's how I lost the last 8 pounds. My intention was to just stop and I only came back when I got to anxious not too. If you listen too your body everything will be fine, trust me! You just have to embrace it, and know that you are not two things fighting against each other. Then you'll be just fine. I weigh myself once a week to see how things are going. If I am gaining I eat a little less and the other way around. Stopping with counting calories and eating afer hunger cues is the best thing I've ever done!!

700 calories/day is irrisponisble and way to low, no matter how young or thin a person may be. You're starving your body and you really need to eat more. Losing weight like that will do you no good what so ever, a lot of people will be able to tell you that. If you want to lose weight you need to eat at least 1200 pr day, and that's if you are thin and old! Please eat more.
