Haven't been here in a long time, but got email notification that someone posted here so I thought I would look.

I think you will just have to accept that most people idea of exercise on this website is pounding a treadmill in the local gym for half an hour. Even that is being on a generous side.

Foods The truth about "0" calorie Parkay Butter Spray Apr 11 2010

I called the Parkay company... Their butter spray has 50 calories per tablespoon. I specifically asked them for the correct calorie count and told them I had to know for health reasons because I need to lose weight.

They were nice about it. So... it does not have as many calories as the other person thought... the whole bottle has 800 calories though.

2 Tablespoons equals an ounce.... so 100 calories per ounce which is half that of real butter.

Straight from the horses mouth! :)

Then I would be worried what they made up the calories with........a tbsp of fat is universally 120 approx................so half of that tbsp has something else in it. I'll take pure olive oil any day...at least I know what I'm eating. Buy a spray bottle and load it with your own oil.

I think it reflects the common attitude on these forums of "who cares as long as there are no calories".

Foods Halva - Does anyone know anything about it? Mar 09 2010

In case any of you are still interested:

There is an awesome sesame (tahini) halva I found that is much healthier, and equally tasty.  They use natural sweeteners and have about 6 different flavours. You get the nutrition and a little sweetness without the issue of all that icky/bad white sugar! Since I started eating their brand, I find the stuff I used to love almost sickly sweet.

You can find all the nutritional info on their website here:

http://www.noblefoods.com/products_halvah.htm l

I'm pretty sure you can buy them through amazon.com if you can't find them in your neighbourhood.

How is it healthier? It's another product where our beloved food industry managed to cram processed corn.

Here in Texas the only restriction he had was he could only have one passenger the first six months of his license and he can't be out after midnight unless it is work related or school related. But he has no business being out that late anyways. Also no driving test as long as you took driver's education. Which is kinda crazy

Well if you are really worried about him look in to driving school. Most people THINK they know how to drive or the laws.

Hi!  I am new!!  Thought I would just jump in here!!!

I have a few favorite snacks...I will buy a bag, pull out my postal scale, measure out the serving size, put them into baggies and label WW points on them.  I will measure out the entire package...because I struggle with self control!  :-/

1 cup of Shredded wheat  (was really excited when I noticed Strawberry frosted Shredded wheat at Aldi's!!)

1 cup of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios

Apple cinnamon quakes

Apples with some FF warm caramel sauce (limited amount!)

When I really need a sweet fix I will make some SF/FF Chocolate pudding (cook & serve) with FF milk.....topped with some frozen FF coolwhip (letting it melt into the warm pudding)

This is a great thread....I am enjoying everyone's snack choices!!  :)

It would generally not be safe to shoot it while, say, somebody is jumping out of the closet to "practice" assaulting me.

Instead, like most law-abiding citizens, I practice shooting it at the range, which is a pretty tightly controlled environment.  Not too much stress going on there, other than the noise, the recoil, and the impressive significance of firing a deadly weapon.

Well duh, but shooting it at the range at a paper target is quite different from when some thug starts crap on the street and adrenaline is pumping. There is more to it then just point and shoot, there needs to also be situational awareness.

Not sure why chicken would be ok, but not red meat. Oh well. Anyway did you eat fruits, you might have vitamin deficiency. If you have access to a doctor I highly recommend getting some blood work done.

Well you can, and that is coming from an omnivore. When you say beans are there any particular kinds? I mean there are a lot of variety of legumes. There are other sources of protein like Buckwheat. Sounds like an issue isn't really vegetarian in nature, but just over all poor nutrition. What type of things do you usually eat?

If you do want to start eating meat try to incorporate different varieties of seafood, and poultry and read meats. The key is variety, quality and not quantity. The best option for poultry and red meats are free range and grass fed. Now you need to be careful when buying meat labeled as such because requirements are minimum. As the result a chicken who spent all it's life in a cramped coup can still be sold as "free range", because it has potential access to the outside. Even thought only time it seen it is when it was taken out to be killed. Whole Foods I am looking at you. The best option is to look in to Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and buy from local farms or farm markets.

Good Luck

I liked it, except when some woman comedian was doing standup. I just didn't think she was funny. Could have been a cultural difference thing. *shrug Then there was some performer singing Canadian anthem. Is it just me or did he completely butcher it?

I think the whole thing including extraction, crown, etc cost around 3-3.5k. It was not covered by insurance. They do cover bridges, which have higher failure rate and fail sooner, but cheaper. I guess their logic is that by the time it fails you will be with some other insurance, or without one.

Subway is really the healthiest possible option, if you get the Veggie Delite sub. It's got the least amount of sodium, it's just fresh vegetables with some bread and cheese. Be careful with the dressings, though-- make sure you stick with the low fat ones (my favorite is the honey mustard). I can't speak for Jersey Mike's, but I know Panera Bread has a lot of hidden sodium in their menu items. Subway is by far the best fast food option for a vegetarian (plus a lot of them have the veggie patty option, but I personally think the Veggie Delite is the best item on the menu!)

Well I tend to think their veggie delite is actually not all that healthy. Really look at what you are getting: A lot of white bread (yes even the "whole grain"), and a bit of vegies. Only real saving grace is some olive oil, but most people would probably skip that because of the whole "low fat" craze.

So your plan is to constantly be snacking? I don't believe that is a very healthy habit, and will probably will lead to malnutrition in a long run. Because it doesn't seem like you know a whole lot about it. By the way eggs are not fertilized so really there is no fearing live to kill.
