obviously you two aren't old enough to remember how hard it was to dial a 40-pound steel rotary phone with little-kid fingers.

It wasn't that hard. Undecided

If it is allowed to havenativity scene on the premise, then I don't see why the other side can't have their sign either. In general I vote B.

Does anyone here eat Whole Food's Farmed Salmon? They have "humane" practices... so I am just curious if you think that since they treat their farmed fish "healthfully" (or so they say) that it's ok to eat...

Whole Foods are the biggest scammers on earth. Free range chicken comes to mind. lol Anyway to your question. The key question to ask is what they are feeding those salmon? If it's corn, well food stuff made from processed corn, then I would say no.

8 muffins? Ow! I count bakery muffins at 400 calories each.  But maybe these are little ones.

They are.

I used to be addicted to that place. I didn't go for their prepared salads, but made my own. For seasoning I used soy sauce and shreded eggs on top. I was addicted to chocolate mousse mixed with frozen yogurt. I am not a big fan of their blueberry muffins, but the banana top ones are awesome. I also like their baked potatoes.

Wow. You sound fit, healthy, active, and very disciplined, loeloelaura.  How come you're so strict with yourself?

If I rode 54 MILES on any day.. or over several days, even, I'd be like,

"Step aside, calories, I will now proceed to eat peanut butter on toast with a chocolate milk chaser".

Laughing

Unfortunately riding that many miles, or more, does not give a free ride when it comes to calories. It is still possible to gain weight. Trust me on this one. :(

Tahini + honey + cocoa powder on toast is a devils combination.

Another +1 on CSA. I joined two this year, one for vegies other for none-vegies...

Also do we really need another label? What next Vegelocaleater, Vegalocaleater, Pescaterianlocaleater, etc?

Only people who recommend protein powder for weight loss are the people who either sell it, or fell for the sales pitch from the people who sell it. lol

Foods Interning soon and lunch? Jan 24 2010

allyferr brings up a good point. A lunch is an opportunity to socialize, so if you are invited I would highly recommend going. At least in the beginning. Another tip is if people start asking about your food choices don't go in to "oh it's healthy", "I am on a diet", etc. Keep it simple and short something like "I like to cook". For example most of my lunches are vegetrian. When co-workers asked about it, I just said I don't like to heat up meat in the microwave. Instead of going in to health issues related to consuming too much meat, etc. They got their answer, I didn't look like a health nut (people don't really like that either).

I got 2010 Mazda3 5-door automatic. I love that car. Not as much as my motorcycle, but makes driving more tolerable. :)

There are none-paid internships? Anyway when I did internships I always brought my own lunch. Cafeteria food is expensive and sucks. It's not that big of a deal.

Umm all pasta has the same calories. Unless you go for some weird ones that use tofu or something.... Although I wouldn't call that one pasta.

UD, where are you going excatly? what will you do? it sounds like tons of fun.

Well Going to spent a day, today, in Bangkok just vegging out. I already saw pretty much all there is to see last time so now I am just going to relax and enjoy street food. Mmm grilled calamari in hot sauce!

Then a night train to Surat Thani, a day there, and on to Khao Sok National park for a few days of hiking, rafting and swiming. :) To finish it all off a couple days in Phutek, and a day in Krabi before flying back.

Oh a tip for anyone flying to Bangkok. Unless your hotel is like in a bunnies or something don't take the public taxi. It's a freaken ripp off. You can take an express bus for 150baht, there are few routes that cover major areas of Bangkok, or connect to the sky train or subway. Actually as a general rule, always negotiate. Wink I chuckle when tourists pay retail at local open markets because they see the "on sale" signs. It's always on sale! lol

A Week of Clean-Eating Dinners
I’m trying to give my eating habits a little cleanup these days. It’s easy to pay close attention to what I’m eating on the weekends when I’ve got tons of time on my hands to prepare delicious meals, but during the week when time is less available I feel the pull of convenience foods for their, well, convenience. Here’s what I try to live by when all I have is 30 minutes to prepare a "clean" meal.
