Look, I didn't mean to be rude, but you desperately need help...I'm currently struggling with a case of anorexia nervosa myself and quotes like this one...

"...and then there's the fact that I would have to eat 3000 calories a day like you said, and if I do that I'll go above even my highest weight which is just...no. Absolutely not".

...honestly infuriates me, because I know how hard recovery is, I know how much I'm suffering both physically and mentally in order to beat this disease and get healthy yet you worry about going above your highest weight? Well let me tell you this: Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.

So I'm begging you, get some help before it's too late...

You need help ASAP, especially if you're going to be 300 miles away...what if you suddenly faint and you have no one there to help you?

What do you prefer? Going to college and risk your life or get healthy and then be able to enjoy your studies?

I sincerely hope you get some help.

Oh, yes, I am fully aware that I'm not supposed to be cutting back. I was recovering by Gwyneth Olwyn's method, set point theory and stuff, and I'm truly grateful I found that website because now I know how to recover properly. The thing is... I can't do it right now. I'm 16 and live with my parents, and my mom was making comments like, "You're great at this weight, don't gain any more" and "If you keep gaining too much weight and eating too much crap, I'll have to do something". She never took my ED seriously, and it is so so awful to go through recovery without support (except for my BF), specially when you spend all day crying.

I know it'll put me into quasi-recovery, and that when I try to recover properly again, I'll overshoot my set point. But... Yeah. I just couldn't do it right now. =(

Thank you so much for the replies. <3

Please don't give up now! Ignore the negative comments! Think about yourself, and just flat out ignore any triggering comments.

I know it's difficult, and I can certainly relate because my mom is exactly like that, she's being dieting her entire life and she freaked out when I told her what I should be eating...but you know what? I don't give a crap, I want to get better, I want to be able to enjoy my life again so I just flat out ignore all the triggering comments.

I really hope you can carry on with your recovery, I'll be cheering for you :)

I increased my calorie intake to 2000 :D and I don't feel guilty at all because this is the only way I can recover :) I actually feel kind of proud of myself :D

My aim is, to eat more than i did the following day if that makes sense.

I am very competitive, so I am hoping my challenge loving nature will overtake my control loving nature! :D

Were you eating 1,200 a day too? I see anorexics eating like 400 max and sometimes i dont feel i have an eating disorder..

Goodluck with your fight, We can do it :D

Just because some people eat 100 calories doesn't make them "more anorexics" than those that eat 1200-1500, and trust me, to me that amount was enough to get me to a BMI of 14 (for a GUY this is incredibly low) so stop listening to your ED and start eating :)

Thankyou everyone, for your responses.

''You are recovering from the restriction eating disorder and are under the age of 25, your daily minimum calorie intake is 3000. You need additional energy to support skeletal, hormonal and neural development that needs to happen between the ages of 16-25, on top of energy for repair and weight gain.''

scares the hell out of me..looks like i am going to have to brave it and go the doctors..

Take it slow! There's no need to go for the 3000+ calories straight away! I should be eating 3500+ because of my age and gender and I'm gradually increasing my calorie intake because I know it'd be physically impossible to jump from 1200 to 3500 abd so far everything's going great :) so don't be afraid.

I know the sound of "3000 calories OMG" is scary but trust me, as you continue to nourish yourself, everything becomes easier :)

Hey! First time posting here, I still struggle reaching 2500-3000 calories a day and that's why I'm not going to post my eats yet but I hope I can take the jump soon :P reading your posts is really encouraging! :)

Anyways, without even reaching 2000 calories I already gained 1 kg in about 20 days (went from 43 to 44 kg :D I'm currently at a BMI of 14.7 ), I know it's almost nothing but hey, baby steps right? :) Hopefully I can start eating at least 2500 otherwise I'm never going to reach a healthy weight :/

Anyways, keep it up weight gainers :D

Yes, I know, according to all the info on thie site I need at least 3000-3500 given my age and sex but I'm struggling with 1200, I don't have any idea how I'm going to eat that amount...

At least I did a positive thing today (I think it's a positive thing?): after seeing that I haven't gained any weight I threw my scale to the bin out of frustration lol.

Anyways thanks for the support :)

Just wanted to share my frustation...It's been 10 days since I stopped doing any kind of exercise and increasing a little bit my calorie intake (from 1000 to 1200 or so). Today I weighed myself and I haven't gained any weight, NOTHING :( I'm still 43 kg :( is this normal? I feel extremely frustrated because even though I end up feeling extremely bloated after every meal I steal can't gain any weight :(

And vanzero- that is amazing. You should be so proud of yourself. It's all about baby steps. One day, you'll be able to exercise not because you feel the compulsion to, or because you need to burn x calories or anything, but instead because you enjoy it.

Keep plugging along. I know it's hard, its confusing, and just damn frustrating, but keep working, nourishing your body, and being kind to yourself. You deserve it! :)

Thank you very much! You're so kind :) That's the exact kind of support I was looking for :D Your post made my day :)

Thanks a lot! The weight gainers one is really useful! But to be honest I have no idea how I'm going to eat that amount of food O_O oh well, I have to try right? Otherwise ED will keep controlling me and I'm sick of it!

Anyways, thank you very much! And ignore the rant please lol

No exercise for 7 days :D I finally realized that at 14.4 BMI my body literally can't stand any kind of workout.

Still haven't started any meal plans but I had custard for dessert last night :) it may sound like that's nothing but to me it's a huge improvement lol :P

Thanks a lot :) I'll try my best!

BTW, I'd love to get a recovery meal plan because I'm afraid I'm not getting nearly enough calories...I feel really scared about changing my habits but if I don't I'll never defeat this stupid disease!
