Motivation Lose - Maintain for Winter, Starting Nov 1st to Jan 1st [Motivation Group/Challenge] Nov 14 2012

Is it the change in seasons/daylight savings time getting us down? I'm also in this too-busy, too-tired, overworked, blah mode this week. Instead of a walk at lunch, I was in a meeting and ate all the catered desserts on offer just because they were in front of me :( Need to get back into it tomorrow.

It does sound like there are some motivated folks - the trips and the holidays coming up are always helpful to think about, hey?

Sounds like everyone's doing well. I love that "progress is progress no matter how small" quote!

Hi everyone! I've been off CC for many many months and need to start logging and reminding myself to exercise.

SW: 137

GW: 129

@sdue - how is the Jillian Michaels? I was going to try the 30 Day Shred

@klauer - amazing progress on no sugar. I'd love to do that!

Anyone have any other suggestions for alternatives to sugary food? I'm trying to find things that are whole or "ready-made" in some way that compares to the convenience of just grabbing a cookie. Some quick things I've found are fruit, plain yogurt, unsweetened applesauce, slices of cheese, and nuts.

Welcome back hawhippie! Betsy, you are an inspiration. I hope you're enjoying your classes.

I have gotten back into the exercise somewhat - even worked out first thing this morning (although that made me late for work!) Now I have to get back to logging.

I am so frustrated with myself. I have a sick dog, had a plumbing disaster, and I've been busy at work and I haven't exercised at all for a week. For a couple of days it was all about the pizza and vending machine as well. It doesn't feel very good - not just because I'm not nearing my goal, but I'm bloated and sometimes feel like I've been sitting in one spot too long.

Hey, sorry I didn't weigh or post on "Good" Friday. It was so nice to have a long weekend! No change for me so far but I have been keeping track of my exercise better.

Hawhippie that mindset sounds so awesome :) It's so great to be in such a positive place.

Betsy it's great to hear your excitement about getting into routine too! And your Monday uptick is minor.

Thanks for restarting this Betsy. I'm happy to "reset" for April!

Start: 134.5 Goal: 129.9

Strategy for getting to goal:

1) exercise 5 days a week

2) keep treats for special occasions

3) use CC journal to keep myself accountable.

Did I say something about getting back on track? Apparently I totally failed. Didn't get much exercise last week and then Saturday my main source of nutrients was potato chips. I worked out and ate veggies yesterday but I still don't feel so great :(

Hurray 150s, Betsy! And wow, Heather, you are making progress too!

Fri Mar 9: 134.5

Week 2
Mon Mar 12:  134
Fri Mar 16: 134.2

I was so tired at the beginning of the week - I think because of the time change - that I didn't get much exercise at all. Nothing too crazy planned for this weekend so I hope to do work out, visit the farmer's market, and prep lots of fruits and veggies to eat next week.

Well done everyone! My goal this week is a combination of Heather's and Ward's - avoid refined sugar and stick to herbal tea after supper.

*This is shocking because for supper last night I ate half a key lime pie. I was really prepared for a very high number.

A Week of Clean-Eating Dinners
I’m trying to give my eating habits a little cleanup these days. It’s easy to pay close attention to what I’m eating on the weekends when I’ve got tons of time on my hands to prepare delicious meals, but during the week when time is less available I feel the pull of convenience foods for their, well, convenience. Here’s what I try to live by when all I have is 30 minutes to prepare a "clean" meal.
