| I can see what you are saying..if you are at or above 1200 consistantly and don't feel hungry, then I wouldn't worry about eating back as much. | |||

| It's just common sense to me. My body needs enough calories to survive on..I don't want it to start eating away my muscles because I don't have enough fuel to sustain the workout. | |||

I do this too..it's because I'm working out and doing more toning. I AM losing fat..but I'm picking up muscle, which weighs more but takes up less space (and is much more attractive) than fat...I'm fine with it as long as I SEE results on ME...the numbers are not all that important. |

| Weight Loss | I skip breakfast...so what? | May 30 2007 16:09 (UTC) |

| I could easily skip breakfast..I'm not a morning person. But I don't want to burn away my muscle and call it weight loss. I want to kick start my metabolism and eat every 3 -31/2 hours to keep it going...I've learned how it works and I've learned how to keep my body filled and satisfied while in my calorie limit. It's just one of those situations where you have to decide whether health is more important...or just flat out weight loss, whereever it comes from. I choose health. | |||

| a slowdown in my metabolism, meaning I can't eat anything and never gain anymore. My husband likes to bring home pints of sinful ice cream for me a few times a week. Since January, I put on 10 pounds. I started counting calories mid April, upped my workouts a bit and I"ve lost 6 of it..but look better than I did before because my fitness has improved. I want to lose a total of about 20-25lbs overall. | |||

If you don't want to invest anything just yet, visit the library..you could probably find some videos and books to help. Also, if you have cable..look for early morning workout shows. Denise Austin's Daily Workout on Lifetime is on at 6 am central and she often incorporates Pilates moves into her workouts. Digital channels offer 'free spots' with Pilates workout that you can watch for free anytime you want. These are pretty easy to move over to DVD as well if your system is set up right. |

| It's not a good idea...your metabolism doesn't 'kick in' for the day until you eat..so if you're going on NO calories all morning...your metabolims is going to be very sluggish...Eat breakfast, and you'll start burning right away. Eat every 3-3.5 hours and you're metabolism will keep going all day...you'll burn faster. | |||

The calculators tell me to aim for 119...which is pretty accurate for me. When I was between 115-118 I felt and looked my best..when I fell down to 108, I was skinny..but didn't look healthy...I don't want to do that. I don't like 'skinny' as a goal. blech..I'll go for fit and healthy. |

being 5 foot 1..1200-1400 (w/o additonal exercise) is a decent deficit under my suggested metabolic rate. When I work out ..I eat more. |
