I'm gonna have to back out of this challenge. =/

I'm in recovery for bulimia now and treatment's becoming more constant. I've been told to stop exercising. Though I'm sure walking is okay, between the appointments and meetings and meltdowns, I just don't have the time for this challenge.

Best of luck to everyone else, though!

I know a lot of people on WW who after they lose the weight have no desire to stick with it and easily gain it all back.

Also as long as your calories burned are more than what you take in, and you're eating a healthy amount you will lose weight. So it's not that either is better really. The best type of diet is a lifestyle change, one you wouldn't mind keeping forever.

I agree.
Everyone I know who has been on WW has failed it, essentially. Whether it's because they don't want to follow through with it, or they simply are tired of it, they fail.

Calorie counting is so much more versatile. It's not really a diet to me, it's just controlling yourself.

Besides, all those WW foods have so many chemicals in them. It's disgusting what they say is GOOD to put in your body...

I saw my new dietician yesterday and I really, really like her. At my next appointment we're setting up a meal plan but I e-mailed her asking if we could set one up sooner.

I'm trying my hardest not to count calories at the moment but I've noticed I just don't eat enough that way. :S I'm hoping she e-mails me back soon !

Thanks to everyone for the help, though.

Another 2.73 miles this morning. I'm gonna have to find a way to fit in some more miles tonight. I have a long bike ride planned, so hopefully I'm not too tired for an evening walk.

11.19/50 miles :)

LOL Sorry... didn't mean to gross you out.

This (the "fact" that the colon will hold up to 40 pounds of poo) has just been tossed about for awhile now and there are young people on here that are going to start believing it iand thinking they need to spend their lives on the toilet to get rid of the evil 40 pounds hiding where they don't belong.

Just my little public service announcement for the day Wink

Lmao, it's just that I was eating a peanut trail mix bar while reading this and it turned my stomach inside-out ! :P

Jee, to hold 40 pounds would be ridiculous. Wouldn't your colon burst before that point? I don't know. Just doesn't even sound possible to me, I don't know how others believe it.

do you have someone you can sit down with and ask what would be appropriate in terms of food. could you see a nutritionist and discuss that you dont want to do cals but that you no longer have any idea what normal is and need a meal plan to help you attain stability for a while. even google sample meal plans which may have a designated cal total but pick an appropriate amount for you and just accept that. do not go weighing or counting every measley cals.

i saw GI-jane said to someone earlier, you cannot unlearn the cals, nor can you deny you know them BUT you can choose to ignore them having an impact on you

Yeah, I'm actually starting OP this Thursday. My first appointment is with a dietician so I'm going to ask her for some help. I just really wanted to have myself on track before I started going there. :S

It seems impossible right now but there have been times I haven't paid attention to calories. I really wish I could just snap my fingers and get back there. But atleast I know it's possible, so even if it takes a while to get there, atleast I'm getting there... =/

Edit: Thanks, by the way, for all your help. :)

cool! well thats a good start. personally (ED Sufferer) i wouldn't at all count. if you can avoid it. it is most definately a trigger. so is weight loss so as best you can without focusing on the numbers make sure you eat enough

Yeah, I'm just completely lost. :P After three years of this, I've completely lost any knowledge I had on how to eat normally. I tried to make a meal plan for myself not too long ago, and it came out being like, 100 calorie meals and a dozen snacks to try and fill up the huge 1700 gap I had left. :P

well i thought id let you know that one fast track way back to anorexia and bulimic behaviours are by setting your goal to be 5lbs lower than your actual lightest weight.

do you really think its fair on your body that a 5'5 girl weighs between 105 and 110lbs.

you're really recovering arent you

Old goal weights. I'm sorry I haven't gotten the chance to update those.

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
