I'm not a big chocolate person, however when I want it, I'll have it, in small amounts.  I also will get the chocolate "Whips" (yoplait yogurt) and they really satisfy the chocolate craving withoout too much damage.... just count it as one of my snacks for the day.

Hey Vry! Is this for 1 day (meaning just September 1st)?

================

 **all participants, please read**

Also, to the rest of the participants, just give me a weekly total, not day by day as I will only be updating the totals once a week (usually by Monday PM at the latest).  So, for example, the first full week of September is 9/2 through 9/8, so on Sunday the 9th (or Monday the 10th at the latest), you will post how much water you drank from the 2nd to 8th.  On Sunday, the 16th (or Monday the 17th) you will give me your total for the week of 9/9 through 9/15 ... and so on.

For the first and last week of the month that are only partial weeks, only give me the days for those week that are part of September.  Because they are only 1 day long, you can either:

  • add September 1st to the week total for week ending 9/8, OR give it to me as a 1-day total
  • add September 30th to the week total for week ending 9/29 (which means you would post the week total on Monday instead of Sunday for that week)  OR give it to me as a 1-day total

Just let me know which option you are doing when you post your totals.

I was going to suggest the Bingers Anon. link as well... maybe the threads that were designed to be a "support group" kind of atmosphere - ones that people tend to go back to often?

To let you know, I have ONLY posted totals for September 1st, so if you gave me any amounts for the week starting Sunday (the 2nd), make sure to add them in to the totals for this week that you will give to me by next Monday, at the latest.

Thanks and best of luck to everyone!

As you stated, you are 17 years old, which means your nutritional needs are different than those of an adult female, and usually much higher than an adult female.  If you are able to seek advice from a nutritionist, you might want to do so, so they can help you figure out a dietary menu that will meet all your nutritional needs for your still-growing (maturing) body.  Also, the fact you have stated you are still having issues with the "eating anything will make my gain wieght mentality", you might to also want to talk to a counselor that specializes in eating disorders, if you are not already doing so.

I wish you the best of luck.
Health & Support My take on the "Binge Eating Disorder" Sep 03 2007

I was tested twice for hypothyroid (once by my regular physician, another by an endocrinologist) and found to NOT have it, despite having most of the symptoms. Even despite the test results, I still believe that I have it, however both my doctor nor the endocrinologist will prescribe me thyroid medication and the fact that one of my results (TSH if I remember right - not 100% sure of which result) was a 3.6 which, despite reading to the contrary (I did a lot of research about it before requesting the tests) both the doctors told me that my reading was "normal" -- and the endocrinologist pretty much tried to tell me that I just needed to get more will power and control over my eating.

I even went to these sites, printed out the information and brought it with me to both the doctors:

TSH:  http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/artic le/003684.htm

My binges tend to be triggered by emotional cues: depression, anxiety, stress (etc).

I was diagnosed with BED (binge eating disorder) in 1994 and it's been an uphill battle with it ever since.  I have learned some cognitive techniques to help control the binges or some of the triggers, but I don't think I will ever be 'free' of it.  The best I can hope for is to have some sort of control on it, and be able to have 'controlled binges', if that makes sense.
Vegetarian Low- Cal sources of protien? Sep 03 2007

I don't do a lot of 'red meat' (like beef) and asked my nutritionist about other protein sources that weren't high in fat, and she suggested things like tofu, and beans.

Hope that helps.

Please check and make sure that I have put you under the correct totals.  If there are any errors, please let me know so that I may fix them.

As for the 1 day in September - both September 1st and September 30th are the only days for that week so you can do one of two things:

  • you can give me the 1 day total
  • you can add that 1 day into the next (or prior) week and give me the total that way.

Whichever way you decide is fine, however let me know which option you are choosing, so that I will be crediting you accordingly.

Also, for those who participate, I will have a small gift for you at the end of the month, so when all the totals are given, come back for the link to the gift!

Good luck to everyone and if you have any questions, feel free to post them here or just send me a message!

Weight Loss just want to stop this cycle Sep 02 2007

You need to tell your nutritionist and psychologist the truth, about what you are doing, because you are in a bad cycle right now and you may need some help from them.  Part of the reason you are binging may be because your body is NEEDING the food.  Taking the laxatives and then undereating is NOT good, and is only going to lead to more cycling between binging and starving AND bring about health problems, if you aren't already having them.

Please, I urge you, for your own health and safety, tell the doctors you are seeing.

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
