Hair - I love guys with long hair (on their heads) - but not the long straightened type (sorry if that offends anyone) more curly/wavy and gruff-looking facial hair so he's all tasty and rugged manly looking :P And tall.... dark blondey browny hair and dark eyes and preferably tanned... ;) oooh shivers lol! Oh and a cheeky smile - like he's thinking something naughty lol! Mmm perhaps it's because I caught a bit of 'cheetah man' on tv last night but Olivier Houalet is my type! Sadly they're a bit rare to come by... http://www.dogonews.com/system/images/000/001 /448/original/CheetahMa-12329865640.jpg |

Wow, I just wanted to say I have read and skimmed this thread from beginning to end, and I admire you, roxysparkles; you are being so strong. I truly hope that your brother continues along his recovery; he may only be in the very early stages of his recovery, but I think (although I know very little about the subject) the fact that he has gone to the facility, and stayed despite the setback with his injury, is evidence of his dedication to succeed, and his growing understanding and strength to fight his addiction. This, I feel, was proven when he realised that it was too soon for him to stay at home. I will continue to follow the thread and hope to read only good things (I will pray that it be so). We are all here for you, and I will pray for yourself, your brother and your family. Please try to make peace with your past with your brother; siblings wouldn't be siblings without fights, name-calling and pranks etc. I'm sure that his addiction has nothing to do with that. You may even be blowing the memories of it out of proportion, looking for things to blame for your brother's struggle. I hope that you can move past this. My thoughts are with you :) Abi |

Yes I've found that exfoliating is a little effective. I've been reading that as you grow older you may find that in some cases it will go away, or at least get a little better. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A1075583 It's frustrating that there's no treatment. However I have found that mine aren't as bad as they used to be (not sure if it's the age or the exfoliation), plus apparently it grows worse in colder months. Luckily mine aren't particularly red either. Were yours worse when you were younger? |

I have this! And like you, I never knew what it was... Unfortunately I have not found anything significant to reduce visibility, (aside from scrubbing and using moisturiser with bead-like bits in it)... I would also be interested in any replies people have!! |

I've lost an automobile tyre and a guinea pig since Jan... Torn, however, between ultimately aiming for the elephant's heart or the small bale of hay....... Perhaps somewhere in the middle, such as an elephant's heart and a couple of extra guinea pigs! Roll on another automobile tyre! :D |

I have always assumed I will have children one day... however this thread has made me begin to question whether it's really for me. I never really thought about the implications of it... Firstly my body (which I'm currently working really hard to change into a shape that I think looks attractive) will be blown out, and then I will need to adjust to always doing things for someone else - it's been a big enough adjustment considering my boyfriend in my decisions as well as myself... let alone a little person who is reliant upon me, and my judgement to be healthy, happy, and to have a good start to their own life! I've always found it difficult to sacrifice my own wants for the sake of others (yes, this, and the fact that I don't want to spoil my body are evidence of my selfish nature), and it's a learning curve right now with my partner, trying to make decisions that will make him happy, and putting his happiness before my own. However, it is becoming easier as my feelings for him grow stronger; plus he says a lot of it is to do with my family's attitude and how I was brought up. Upon reflection, he's right. My family are quite selfish, and his aren't (something I really admire, as they are so selfless toward one another) - so he always let's me know when I'm being a bit of a cow about something lol. I do like the thought of having a baby, but only when I'm in a stable relationship, and I guess that, since they say the love you have for your child compares to no other love, I will be more than willing to sacrifice everything for that child. I want a close family. Back to 'wants' again, but then everyone wants something, don't they? Who has the right to judge when one person is being selfish and another isn't, when they themselves are guilty of wanting??? Hmm tangents flying all over the place here lol, a very thought-provoking thread! :) Apologies for it being slightly unrelated and disconnected with recent posts. |

Yes, bella189, I find that exercise can cheer me up! If I get in a sour mood, I do a little workout and feel so much better! I like the release and also the control I feel, as some things you can't change, but you can change your fitness, health and self-image :) Yay for long-term exercise highs, boo for short-term chocolate highs! |

Haha, your post is quite funny. Although I am genuinely sorry if you are depressed... Actually, now that I think about it... I don't really eat much chocolate... But on the rare occasions I eat it, I do temporarily feel happy... Until it's all gone and I think 'what a waste of my calories I wish I hadn't bothered'; but I'm guessing that's purely due to my weightloss mindset at the moment. Hopefully one day I won't have to regret it, just enjoy it. I've realised I'm not really an emotional eater, I purely eat out of boredom/habit. Out of curiosity, would you say that you are/have ever been an emotional eater? I realise this is a couple of weeks old, so I have to admit, I took a browse through your profile after the post regarding calorie deficit for weightloss, purely out of curiosity really, because you seem knowledgable lol (yes, CC stalker here lol). | Weight Loss | How many calories do you need to burn to lose 1 kilogram of weight? | May 12 2010 22:14 (UTC) |

This is perfectly correct math :) and apologies for being picky, however to prevent confusion, it's 1kg = 2.2lb. So yes, 7700 cals need to be burned in order to lose 1kg of weight (in theory). |

Tracey, I think that as long as you make the most of the high calorie things you enjoy, it's all good. On a side note, I hate to see people who are really slim but eat loads really fast and it's like... how can you get away with that?? You barely tasted what you just ate.. what was the point? And I know that you still won't gain a pound... Lol mini-rant. Rainbowjelly, good job going for the magazine instead of the crisps. I do like to try to squeeze in treats here and there, but I try to eat them alongside something else to make them more filling. E.g. if I have crisps its with a sandwich or something. Otherwise they don't really fill me up and I feel as though I wasted the calories. I can't wait to reach a stage where I don't have to avidly count calories... Rainbowjelly I hope that you get great results today! Don't let disappointing results spoil your weightloss too. I've been feeling down the last few days since I split with my boyfriend of four years, and I've been putting that negative energy into exercise, which normally leaves me feeling much better. Speaking of things to motivate, I'm going to Spain at the end of the month, so I'm trying to shape up quickly for bikini time lol dear God... I gotta go buy one soon :( I'm sorry, I'm not vegetarian; and I'm the kinda person who struggles to eat a meal without some kinda meat in it lol! I'm feeling really good about our new group :) yesterday it kept me motivated to eat much more healthily. Hope everyone is doing well! :) Abi |

Thank you everyone :) Well I weigh everyday (I know some people find it disheartening as it can fluctuate but I find it keeps me focused on my goal) so any weigh day is good for me. Chrissy, I'm sorry to hear about your binge problem, I don't really understand it, and so this could be really stupid advice, but maybe you should spread out your meals into smaller portions throughout the day, so that you don't get excessively hungry and overeat... and try eating slowly, so that your body has a chance to realise you have eaten and tell you when it is full sooner, rather than too late. I always try to remind myself of two things - 1. Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels (certainly when the eating only lasts a few mins), and 2. Better in the bin than on the chin (I live with my family, and so I don't really control what is bought, and my mum buys a lot of yummy stuff, so it can be difficult to stick to the healthy options). Back to weigh-days... Fridays sound good if you'd like :) What does everyone think? Abi :) |

oh dear rainbowjelly... try not to beat yourself up about it tho, use it as motivation to do more exercise; make yourself earn those extra calories!! a good exercise session always makes me feel more optimistic about seeing results, and if they dont appear on the scale, you can see a difference over a short period purely by looking in the mirror or using the tape measure :) good luck!! by the way, can't resist sharing that today i hopped on the scale to find that i have lost 20lbs since January!! *yay* nearly halfway now :) also just wondering, can we have a weigh-in day? :) Abi |

Hiya :) I would love to join, my name is Abi, I'm at uni too, and am 5'9", 164lb. I'd like to have reached by goal weight by the end of these 90 days :) (currently GW 140lb, although possibly 135lb). In order to reach this goal I intend to lose around 1.5-2lb per week. I'm hoping that doing this with others (all you lovely people) will give me the motivation that I need to reach my goal. Out of curiosity, what is the most effective weight loss techique for you all? E.g. just cutting back on intake, or specific exercises that you may enjoy? Good luck everyone, and stick to it! |

Hey :) I'm Abi, I'm 19, 5'9", 164lb. I have been trying to lose weight for a while, and lost 19lb so far (start weight 183lb), but I would love someone to lose weight with - to help keep me on the wagon, shedding the pounds quicker!! I live in the UK, and go to university (currently in second year of 3 year course). I am aiming to get down to around 135-140lb (depends how I look when I get there :D ) and my intention is to reach that goal by mid August. I hope that maybe we can all support each other in our weight loss journeys!! |
