Weight Loss A change in measurements Jun 24 2012

It depends on how tall you are, how much muscle mass you have, what type of workout you're doing etc. I'm 5' 8" and there were small differences around 20 lbs and major ones around 30.

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!" Or feel free to insert other term like, 'cut' 'hot' etc. It's true.

Oh lord. Story of my life. Especially because at work I work in a portion of the building where the music doesn't reach and there are few other employees around. Haha.

tripolaaaar! :) ! I took a long break from here too, I've just returned for real this last week.
I'm sorry your life has been so turbulent. I'm glad you're finding your way to a better place in your head. That's a lot for anyone to go through and I can't imagine how these months have been for you. I'm glad you're taking care of yourself.
We're here for you in any way we can.

@Rita, how exciting! I love to hear what is motivating other people. Keep soldiering on. Each incremental choice is snowballing into you becoming AWESOMER

@brightmoments, keep focusing on where you're going. It will carry you away from where you are and from dwelling on where you've been. I remember when even 165 seemed unattainable...

All: I was going to take the weekend off from working out, but some friends came in from out of town and my sweetie and I went to dinner at a greasy burger joint. I looked at nutritional info before we went and had an under 700 calorie plan... but we arrived before they did... absolutely starving (we were meeting at a destination that was out of town for both of us). I ate... a lot of fried things. I'm practicing not freaking out, panicking or obsessing (struggles I have) and just eating correctly tomorrow and working out instead of sleeping in. Stuff I should do anyway!

Does anyone currently posting here lift? I want to get started but it's a whole different world.

:) It's nice to 'meet' you!
I've been spending some time reading back a few pages and trying to get acquainted with everyone. I know I posted my measurements but I'll also say I started at 205+ lbs. I'm now at 155 and am thinking of taking it to 145. I'm 5' 8". I want to start lifting seriously but that's a whole world that is pretty unknown to me.
I can't wait to get to know everyone and see how we can help each other. This battle is mostly waged internally and the support of comrades is awesome. Good luck everyone!

Weight Loss Any advice? I just don't feel that hungry any more; do I need to fulfil calorie requirements? Jun 21 2012

Start incorporating more nutrient dense things (as suggested above) add nut butters, whole nuts, avocados, oils (healthy and tasty ones!) Lacto-vegan, does that mean you eat dairy? CHEESE and full fat yogurts.

Good luck on your journey!

Hello @brightmoments, I'm yogurt :) Are you suffering seasonal allergies?

I weighed in today at 155. My measurments are 36-30-39, woohoo! I went to two fitness classes back to back last night and my plan was to do the same this morning. Suffice to say I was a little over zealous, ha! I'm sore but it's good. I ended up just, ('just') going to one. I could have stayed for two but it would have been torturous and not actually that beneficial. Instead I came home to rest and prepare myself for work :)

It's sunny in my part of the world today! I hope you're all doing well.

Oh man. I'm here, again, late as usual.

Chocho: I'm working again, not in school and ready to get serious about the next steps in my fitness journey.

I'm finally 'healthy' sitting at 156lbs. I would like to lose a few more, to be truthful but then I want to put away the scale, break out the tape measure and start LIFTING. Truth is, I never thought I'd be 'healthy' up over 200 lbs. 160 seemed like an unattainable dream world. Well, I'm below that now and starting to wonder, could I also be lean and cut? I think so, but it's a whole new world of gear shifting...

I have found a Jazzercise studio near my house that I'm attending as regularly as I can. It is much different from Zumba, but I think that going 1-2 times per day I will be able to meet my weight goals and some of my resistance training goals.

Mooney, matayas, carolpm, I miss you loves. How are everyone's goals?

Oh my goodness, yes! I have several tendencies toward disordered eating that stem from my OCD. I suffer from pure O usually but it manifests itself in panicking about the inability to calculate calories and then over compensate by restricted eating.

I don't have any advice for you other than try to leave that concerned moment in the past and then make healthy choices tomorrow.

Chin up, we can do it!

Wednesday was yesterday, right? I weighed in at 153.3. My original goal was 160 and I feel as if I've slipped into a  weird place. I want to lose more but I don't know what the next goal should be. I think I'm going to put it at 145 and see what that looks like. Holy crap, I used to weigh 205! Thats crazy to think about.

Lately I haven't been strictly counting. I've been trying to stay in tune with my body's actual hunger signals, greatly reducing my consumption of refined sugar and trying to eat as many whole foods as possible. I think that's what has kept me maintaining since my move about 7 months ago.

Alas, no Zumba here for me... so I went to a Jazzercise class yesterday. Not as fun as my old Zumba classes-- but I think its what I need. Whew, 7 months off of working out really showed yesterday. I'm ready to get back in the groove.

Its so nice to read what you two have been up to. I will commit to the Wednesday weigh in too!

Hey everyone! I've been thinking about you all :) I miss you!
Poor mooney! I broke my elbow once... you figure out all the little times that you take a joint for granted after you break it... here's to a speedy recovery!
I'm still weighing in around 154 lbs-- but that's plus holidays so far :) I'm ready to get back up on the horse and lose 20 more lbs. I know... it's crazy. But, I think I can do it.

Mooney, I need your attitude back into my life. I've worked myself into a little hole of self doubt and loathing. I'm hanging around 156 now and that makes me want to cry. I really, really, REALLY want to see 150 by christmas. I know it's possible I just feel overwhelmed at the task. I still haven't found exercise that I like, and I fear that it's going to be the uphill battle with running that I've always had.

I just need to get my brain in the right place, soon. I've noticed my tendencies to be really restrictive the last couple of days. Reigning it in is one thing but I'm being sort of neurotic about it. It's okay, every day is a blank slate right?

Press on ladies!

carolpm-- what you're saying is resonating with me big time. I need to get stricter too. I did yesterday and it was rough. Everything was fine until I cracked open a bottle of wine I bought over my birthday weekend. I drank it, ate a bowl of homemade Parmesan popcorn, and 3 slices of cinnamon bread. I know, TMI but it all came back later :( I can't do this to myself anymore.

Today, starting anew. Eating my oatmeal before class like a good girl. Weighed in at 154.4

Chocho, I'm so proud of you :D You drive this wagon and we'll all be on board soon.

Also, because I don't have a whole lot of money to spare. I'm all for education for the sake of knowledge... but in the real world I can't afford it.

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
