| Foods | New yogurt I discovered - tastes great! | Sep 14 2007 04:52 (UTC) |

Just picked up a Cascade raspberry non-fat to try from the local higher-end grocery store. Very tasty! And I'm not really a yogurt fan either. On the rare occasions I had yogurt, it was Yoplait. It's funny you mention sugar. I was looking at it on the Food database and it got a grade of B- for "very high in sugar". It has 16 grams, and I thought that seemed like a lot. I had no idea Yoplait had 28! And it gets a B+! And it's higher in fat and calories too. That's crazy.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I'm gonna buy more of this stuff. |

Regarding sugar in the Kashi cereal, remember that they have lots of different kinds, with sugar content ranging from 3g to 12g, from what I've seen. it depends on the cereal. http://www.kashi.com/products/category/Hot%20 &%20Cold%20Cereal |

| Atkins seems really disturbing to me, since the primary motivator for my starting to diet is high cholesterol. I imagine that I could lose weight on Atkins, but then have a heart attack and die, so I'm not sure the tradeoff is really worth it. | |||

| Morningstar breakfast products have soy, I don't know about their other stuff. I didn't particularly care for them, though. Interestingly enough, I really like the Boca Chickn patties, and I didn't think I would ever like a soy based anything. They're really good. | |||

| I don't mind the crunch, but it doesn't seem to agree with me for some reason. If you like shredded wheat, their Autumn Wheat and Cinnamon Harvest cereals are great. | |||

| I love the Kashi cereals. My favorites are Autumn Wheat and Cinnamon Harvest, both shredded wheat type cereals, and Heart To Heart, which is a crunchy oat type. I liked the taste of Go Lean Crunch, but I found it hard on my system for some reason. The others I mentioned have a good amount of fiber and are low in sugar and sodium. | |||

| I did the You Pick Two at Panera yesterday and got the southwest tomato and roasted corn soup and a half a turkey sandwich. Add in the apple and it was still less than 400 calories (395), even with Sourdough bread and the mayo. Very tasty and a bit of spice in the soup to boost the metabolism. :) | |||

| Looks like there's a Vitamin Shoppe in Elk Grove and Citrus Heights. Don't know if that's far from you. Maybe try there? | |||
