Hi Shigureflower ...
I add everything in once a day .. Normally this is around 8am when I first login my PC at work. I add in any food from yesterday which I had once at home .... then add in the plan for today. It helps that I buy my breakfast , lunch and fruit for snacks on the way to work. At the weekend I do not always get to update the log here ... then I grab a piece of paper and make a few rough notes of the amount of cals and just check I do not exceed 1800 (my limit) ... =) I know what it is like to have a Mum who thinks she knows it all about diets. My Mum was a regional weight loss champ one year .when I was a teenager and at home. She has since put it all back on. I tend not to tell her that I am loosing weight else I get the third degree each time she speaks to me ... also when I visit she comments about everything I eat. But hey - I know how many cals I have had today and if I can eat that choc bar or not =) This is not so easy if your at home - so I think having a good chat might help ... if not do you have an aunt / uncle who is approachable who could then sit with you both !?!?! |

Hi there ...
I have been here since 8th June and so far have lost 28lbs ... now at 273. My daily cal count aim is 1800, but I waiver anything from 1400 to 1900.... generlly sticking round 1700. |

Strawberries ....
These are my afternoon snack in the office. They are 30cals for 100g - thus I buy a 600g pack from the store on my way to work... 180 grams and yummy ! |

I go between 1400 and 1800 .... no exerise other than all the walking I do in the office ...
Currently loosing about 3-5 lb a week. But then I am 280 right now =) |

I find that M&S do a nice fruity and cream "because you count" range. Generally around 70cals a pot. Shape extra fruit ones are nice too :) |

QUITE AGREE ... I am also not telling anyone else apart from my Husband who has to cope with weighing everything he cooks me =)
I object how other people on knowing your on a diet feel it is their right to be your food guards. "Do you really think you should be eating that ?" "Are you sure that is good for you?" "When I go a diet I don't ....... " Or they obsess for you on how much weight you have lost !!!!! ARHHHH ... =( I know what I have eaten already today and during the week. As I am 287 right now I my cal limit a day is higher then the stick insect in the office !!! |

Welcome Cassie , Geoff and rprather ... I am finding filling in the food log is really helping me. I think I am wavering between 1500 and 1800.. but as long as I am not feeling hungry I am not eat just coz I have cal left at the end of the day... UK people... I have started buying my lunch for work at Marks & Spencers. Good selection and very clear on the cals. The one on Waterloo Station is on my way to work and they have a GOOD selection of fruit too ! |

As a 'fluffy' person too who has had all kinds if comments in the past ... just let it wash over you & smile sweetly .
27 lbs ... BRILLIENT !!! Well done. Keep going girl. In the past when I would be eating a choc bar or something like, the stick thin girls in the office would wonder over and annouce in a LOUD voice " Gee if I had one piece of choc I just swell up so much I have to do a 5 mile run " ... eeemmm Gee Thanks ! |

Agree with some of the other replies about Parents setting the pattern. Food was a reward for being good, a cheer up when ill or sad ... Also agree with Sahmiam - going 'cold turkey' on choc.... |

I was going to ask about eating out too... as I too have work lunches and weekend meals with Husband... How do you work out the weight of the items on the plate to enter into the food log ?? I find I am terrible at guessing =( It is also less normal in the UK to get to ask for sauces on the side or other changes. your treated as if the request is a pain in the neck. |
