198.5lbs/90kls, down 3.5lbs.....over 10 days. Step goal is 195 by April 1, long term is 175/80kls but I am concentrating on 5lb steps

Big help (Duh!) is daily walk as start of exercise.

Cheers from toronto

Awesome. Way to take it in smaller 5 lbs increments. It helps keeping your goals manageable. Keep it up the hard work.

Realistic and sustainable exercise is my challenge. I have started walking in morning for 30 minutes but that is a bare minimum. Not ready to hit a gym, trying to find home exercise alternatives.

Around 197.5 this morning. Continuing daily walks with a longer one on Saturday and Sunday. Not very  good on calorie counting. Great to see the start of Spring and able to wear runners instead of winter boots, starting to walk faster. Can not wait for earlier light so I can walk at 6:30 or earlier. Best regards to all other posters. Group is very quiet.

Anyone exercising at home with basic equipment? I do not wish to join a gym or spend a large amount of money so I am doing stretching and light exercise at home along with the walking. The plan is to start light resistance training just using my own body weight.  Very challenging to self motivate.

My step goal is <=195 by this month end. One Seventy Five by mid August is my aggregate goal.I want a sustainable weight loss and long term fitness life style as opposed to just a diet and weight loss.

Best Regards on this sunny spring day!

Not so good today, back at 199, up 1.5 over last week, and my stated step goal is 195 by month end. My own fault though, I stopped counting/recording for weekend and ate comfort food. My saving grace was a very long walk on Sunday. Time does fly on a walk using an MP3!

I'm not a member of a gym, but luckily I have a free city gym near my house that has lots of great equipment for cardio.  Have you looked for anything like that in your neighborhood?

I use an MP3 player too when I'm going to be working out for extended periods.  If I'm just walking or jogging, audio books are great.  The time really flies by.

The one thing that keeps me from eating comfort food is logging all my calories, even if it is after the fact. It just seems to keep healthy eating fresh in my mind.

Everyone has slip-ups, it's just important to get back into the groove and keep your goals in mind.

BTW, where are all the other members?!

re: other members, that is what I have been wondering.

Progress this week. I have added a 6 flight of stairs climb to my early am walk of 25-45 mintes (depends on day). I have bought an exercise ball, resistance band and 10lb weights, now I just have to start using them!

Hit my step goal of 195 this am! Next step is 190lbs by end of April first of May. 20lbs or so to go to get to <=175 below 80kls with a target date of August 1st.
