Project Runway: Season 5

Ok.  I absolutely adore this show, but don't have anyone to talk to about it.

I searched, and no existing threads popped up for this season, so I'm starting one.

Did anyone watch last night? I totally thought the simple black skirt and blouse should have won. I would totally wear that, I loved the lines, and how it so clearly communicated the picture image.  That purple and teal thing was just ick.  Looked like something Barbie would wear.

What do you all think?  Any favorite designers yet?

***SPOILER ALERT!  DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THIS WEEK!***

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Project Runway.  I love Tim Gunn.  I love that the competitors on this show actually have to have considerable talent to do what they do.  Oh, and I love Tim Gunn.  (He's that celeb that if I actually had a chance to meet him in person, I'd probably just stand there and weep, unable to speak.)

This season, I'm really liking Terri.  I would have been happy if she had won this week and last.  She's got such a sense of style, and she's not all about being quirky and dramatic.  Reminds me of Chloe Dao in that respect.

- Suede did a great job on that woven bodice that won a couple of episodes ago.  But the third person thing needs to stop.

- It seemed really clear to me that they booted Kelly and kept Blayne because he  makes for better drama.  Ticks me off, because I like some of the things she has done, and his work has been consistently poor.

- Kenley is annoying.  Enough of the giggling already.

- I don't think Jennifer even knew what Surrealism is.  And with Daniel--if you have to keep telling people that you have impeccable taste, do you really have it?

- I LOVE that they're bringing Chris back from last season as an inspiration/judge for next week.  I just adore him, and thought he was an amazing sport returning the way he did last season. What a great laugh!

I'm eager to hear what the rest of you think!  We talk PR a ton at work, but I'm always ready for more!

I actually quite like her, more so now that Kelli is gone.  So far this season I'm really liking Jerell, Terri, and Kenley.  Daniel was a favourite but has been disappointing lately.

Ahh, I was sad to realize this evening that I totally missed the latest episode! Do they show any of the episodes online? I know they re-air all the episodes during the week, but it seems that if you WANT to find a particular one on, you can't ever find it. If you aren't looking for them, they're on repeat all the time! Lol.

Man, I think there's a little bit of me that's a drag queen in a woman's body.  Boy do I love sequins!  Haha.

I loved Korto's dress.  The flames were so neat!  It was very eyecatching, draggy, but still nice, and well made.

I also liked Joe's pink thing, but I think a huge part of that is because I can't resist pink AND sequins.  OMG.  It really fit quite well, it was amazing.

As usual, I hated Blane's thing, and I'm glad Daniel got voted off.  I think he should have been auf'd the last episode instead of Kelli.  I think Keith needs to be the next to go.  His ideas are so tired.

Yeah, Keith is a big wienie. I thought Joe's model is what sold the outfit and Terri was ROBBED! Loved that kimono thing and it was so cool looking coming down the runway.

I certainly won't miss Daniel either.

I think Terri's been robbed about three times now--she's awesome!

I would have LOVED if Blayne had left, but I wasn't sad to see Daniel go, either.  He was annoying.

I liked Joe's outfit, too, and I agree Moogie, his model completely sold it.

Who do you all think will rise to the top?  A couple of names who will be left when there are five to go?  Terri for sure, Koto, Suede?

Terri, Joe, and Korto have been doing consistently well. I'd also like to see Kenley and Jerrell stay.

I don't mind Joe winning, but I think Terri and/or Korto deserved it more. I also really liked Leanne's outfit. Jerrell's wasn't really bad enough to be in the bottom three, in my opinion.

For some reason I can't stand Joe! I don't even have a good reason, he just gets under my skin.

Kenley and Jerrell are definitely my 2 favorites. I like Blane too, I find him entertaining.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little sad to see Daniel go. I would have rather it been Keith.

I love this show but I'm not sure about this season yet.  Still trying to find designers that I like.  I do like Joe though and I feel that he has been consistant. 

Finally, a challenge winner AND loser that I agreed with.

I'm tired of this kind of challenge though.  I want to see something that really shows off their skills as designers, not just who can make the best crap out of crap.  I don't think this season is measuring up with prior seasons.

This season sucks. It's by far the worst, in terms of challenges and designers. I feel like these designers are not skilled like past season and also are severely lacking in the personality department. So far, Leanne is the only one I like.

I thought that Leanne was creepy at first, but now she's starting to grow on me.

I agree, this season isn't as good as the last few, but I can't really imagine anyone being more fun to watch than Christian. Although Blayne does try, he fails miserably.

I also totally agreed with the top and bottom choices and Leanne's was my favorite of all the outfits so yay for her.

You know, I think Leanne is a little bit creepy.  I think it is cause she is super mousy.  I was talking to my sister about it last night, she confirmed, it is the mousyness.

I liked her dress last night, but I just didn't get the jacket.  I thought the material looked too frumpy.  I think it would have been better executed with a more structured fabric.

I also really liked Korto's dress.  I would definitely wear that, and I thought the jacket was cute too.

Can I tell you how ANNOYING Kenley was in this episode?  I just wanted to smack her.  She needs to get some original ideas, all her stuff is just so old, old, old.  It has been DONE already (although, I DID like the dress that she was wearing during the show.  Those purple feathers cracked me up).

Oh good GRIEF Kenley was annoying last night!  Enough with the weeping already!  And I really don't know how she thought even a beautifully executed dress would beat out other designers who made two and three pieces.

I loved Leanne's dress, but I agree that the jacket didn't make sense to me.  Why would you put a clunky piece like that over such an elegant dress?  Korto's little jacket made more sense, but it still seemed a bit heavy to go with such a lovely gown.

And no one else has said it--how happy are we that Stella finally left?  I was so weary of her one and only style!  Definitely not the breadth of talent to make it on this show.

I third the comment about how annoying Kenley was last night but I do love her personal style.  I also agree with the comments about liking Leanne's dress but not the jacket.  I think that it would have been a wiser decision to have Korto win as her outfit is more marketable.  I loved her (Korto's) dress and jacket, though I do think she should have continued to line the top of the dress with the yellow and not just the outer straps.

I was actually kind of surprised that Stella went home in place of Joe.  His outfit was a mess.

I'm sad to admit this.... but Stella was actually starting to grow on me.  Joe's outfit was a mess.  And it was even scarier that HE was so proud of it!

I still love Kenley, and Leanne is definitely growing on me. I really liked her dress and jacket.

I thought Joe's outfit was a lot worse than Stella's. Maybe they got rid of her because she falls in the bottom more often?
I'm a little confused on that one.
