question ...at the gym they had a nutritionalist come in
and just when i thought i had it figured out ----curb ball
okay his theory eat protein in the morning and
carbs in the evening
anyone heard of this or understand it and how it may work ?
I dont know about that..
I think its better to just have a rounded, varied intake of both carbs and protein at each meal (and snacks too!)...Try to make your carbs the complex type aka whole wheat for breads-not the refined, sugary types. And make your protein as lean as possible. That means choosing white over dark for chicken, and if you can-replace ground beef with ground turkey breast...
I am also curious about the reasoning behind that person's logic-it may be helpful...Anyone? Anyone?
Maybe it is because proteins take longer to digest/body to process so you feel less hungry throughout the early part of the day and you can boost yourself with the carbs in the afternoon.
I know when I have protein, like eggs for breakfast, I don't feel as hungry at lunch time as I do when I have a bowl of cereal.
Who really knows? My best advice is to do what feels right!
i ve been thinking of his speeach and i suppose
it may make sense , on weekends and only then do i eat my eggs
because i m always pressed for time .it s true that
i m not hungry for sevral hours later
anyone a nutrtion expert .....help !
thanks for answering girls ........every trick helps
maybe someone can enlighten us
I think there are a bunch of different theory's on what to eat, when to eat it and so on. I think clean/balanced is the key. I do believe in not eating a few hours before bed. Eating carbs and protein after a workout and portion control.
Nutritionists have to throw in curved balls occasionally or why would they need to exist?
This one sounds like a complete idiot if I'm honest. Reason one.... It's a dumb-down shorthand to preach 'carbs in the evening' because the carbohydrate food group covers everything from fruit, to vegetables, to bread, to beans.... That rubs out a huge range of highly nutritious foods that you're meant to avoid? No orange juice with breakfast? No banana with lunch?
Reason two.... Carbohydrates are the body's principal short-term energy source so it makes sense to 'fuel the tank' in the a.m. when you need the most energy. Protein and fat are important as well but should be part of the mix not the full story.
pfft! ooo, no i try to get some protein with every meal and/or snack. it keeps the hunger at bay for me much better, as well as a little fat & come to think of it some fiber too. maybe im just greedy & want it all every time .
gosh ...i m starting to think moderation and yes not
eating prereably three hours before bed would be best
the mistake i make is skip breafast and then pig outlunch and supper
and well yes sometimes especially after the gym i m hingry eventhough i ve gotta head to bed not long after
but if anyone come up with new strategy keep me posted

thats exactly it! which is why if you are like me & are constantly hungry having some protein at every meal (it doesn't have to be a lot) helps to stave off hunger.
EDIT: also i weight lift & i feel better when i eat protein spaced out thru out the day.
here's another blurb from another nutritionist trying to keep his paycheck. i like the way he just totally disregards any veggie protein options, pfft. some say you dont have to get all 8 amino acids at every meal/snack but i find its just easier since most of my protein are from vegg sources w/ the occasional fish. easier to keep track of. anyway his thing is to eat protein every 2-3 hrs & the most important times are early morning, after workout & before bed. again it just sounds like the regurgitated story of getting balanced meals & what not.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
