Protein after Cardio? Or general nutrition thoughts?
I'm 110#, 5' 4'', and looking to put on a little muscle. Every morning I run a couple miles and every night I do a little strength training (push-ups and crunches). I don't need to burn any fat, and I must eat something small before I run or I feel awful. After I run I almost always eat a TON. My question is, what should I eat before/after I run in the morning? If I eat protein will it help me gain muscle? Does it matter when I eat the protein? Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!!!

ive read that eating protein before and after is better than just eating it before or after. Some carbs and protein before you work out will be good. Mainly protein after, but have some carbs too. Gaining muscle takes time, so you will most likley see gains about 4-6 weeks into your routine, however protein will definitley aid you in this process A LOT.
you will not build muscle from cardio, your muscles don't work the same way they do when you strength train. But getting the protein before or after your cardio session will help to preserve the muscle you have. you might want to try and get some protein after the push ups you do also, it will help the muscles to recover.
