Anyone know of a good protein drink/shake for women that does not increase heart rate?
I'm a big fan of "Lean Body for her." It's a full meal replacement shake that you can find at your local GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. It's low in fat, 30g of protein per serving, free of aspartame, lots of calcium, and tastes pretty yummy. You can mix it with milk or water, but I prefer water to save calories. When mixed with water, it's only got 190 calories for the whole thing and honestly does keep you full for a good 2 to 3 hours. My favorite flavor is strawberry ice cream, but I think they also have chocolate, vanilla, banana, etc.
No problems w/ increase in heart rate that I've experienced.
I use the Berry Flavored Whey Protein Isolate by BioPlex. I usually mix it with orange juice. It has 23 grams of protein and 100 calories per scoop. I like to throw in some fruit and put it in the blender. Yummy, and the smoothie keeps you full. Works great for a quick breakfast, or a before bed treat.
My local grocery store carries Nature's Best Isopure protein drinks. I've also seen them at GNC. They come in 3 different flavors, although there is a bit of an aftertaste they aren't that bad. They are 160 calories and have 40g of protein. I drink them as a meal replacement after I weightlift. I like them because I get a big dose of protein and not alot of calories.
Zoic shakes are great! They have about 21 grams of protein but no sugar and only about 1 or 2 grams of fat, so basically its all protein, which I really like since most other shakes are so high calorie, unless you are using them for a meal replacement. They run about 110 calories and have a great taste!
Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for you, but I wanted to ask--some protein drinks increase heart rate?? Which ones? Why? I'm curious about this.
