I'm aiming for a ratio of 20,30,50(%) for fat, protein and carbohydrates respectively, but I've been averaging at about 19% fat, 45% protein and 35% carbohydrates. Is this okay, or is too much protein bad?
Assuming you don't have any sort of pre-existing kidney problems, you're fine.
You should eat 1-1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight.

just kidding your diet sounds very healthy. I agree with the comment of eating 1 to 1.5 grams of protein for every pound of weight you carry. Cheers

...if you're doing heavy duty strength training. Otherwise, 1-1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight is fine. Which works out to 0.5-0.8 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. (And, no, it wouldn't hurt you to be a bit higher than that, but the amount quoted is a bit excessive as a recommendation for the average person.)
No, it's fine. Couldn't hurt to up the fat a bit though.
Protein is good, especially while losing weight is the goal. Helps spare muscle loss and has a higher thermogenic effect than carbs or fat; 25% of protein digested is used for thermogenesis and so protein is effectively 3 calories per gram.

Just a follow up question - how do you get your protein so high? I aim for the same ratios, but usually can barely hit 30% protein, even with a daily scoop of whey powder. I'm vegeterian so I know my carbs will always stay high, but I'm interested to see what your meals generally consist of....

Most of the protein in my diet comes from meat I'm afraid, and that's normally why it's so high. Though I do eat either eggs, cottage cheese, nuts or pulses most days and tofu a couple of times a week.
Hmm I figured...thanks though, I'll try and include more tofu and cottage cheese in my meals!

Just be careful of some of the wonderful side effects of eating a higher protein diet - no one may want to be around you, if you get my drift. LOL
I had been eating a high protein diet, but unfortunately I had some nasty side effects that my hubby kept complaining about... apparently my tummy doesn't like too much protein and neither does my gut! Now that I've cut it way back, everything is great, just wish I had more protein in my diet. ;)
If you space it out, you really shouldn't have any side effects. I've read that our body can't absorb much more than 30 grams of protein at a time, so I try to distribute 120 grams of protein over my day, and haven't had any issues. But of course, that hasn't been a daily number I can reach, so that can be why I haven't noticed any adverse effects.
I've only tried greek yogurt several times, but I would rather use it as a sour cream substitution than yogurt. In my mind, yogurt should be sweet! =/
