Protein Powder

Quote  |  Reply

I want to buy a protein powder.  I've checked out a few places, hoping to find some small size samples to buy so I could try them out, but I can't find any!  All of this stuff comes in huge containers and they're not cheap.  I don't want to buy something and not like it.  I'm considering EAS Vanilla 100 % Whey Powder.  I hear it's one of the better tasting ones.  Anybody tried it?

Thanks!

I have the chocolate and I can't stand the taste. The vanilla is much better I really regret not getting that one. Plus vanilla goes really nicely in fruit smoothies.

I'm not sure the brand - but I think it's called Designer Whey Protein.  Anyway they sell it at my local grocery store so I tried it.  I got the Chocolate flavor.  I like it.  18 g protein, 2 gr fat and 3 carbs.  So I'd suggest that one.  I mix with water but could easily see mixing with milk or making a shake with it.  yummy!

I was nervous before buying protein powder for the first time, too, but BSN is realllly good.  I have been using the Lean Dessert Vanilla Bean, but my most recent purchase was the Syntha-6 which was shipped to me today, so I have yet to try it. I order mine from Bodybuilding.com and it costs a lot cheaper:)

I don't know, I take my protein powder straight with only water on gym days.  I think of it more as medicine, and by that standard it tastes pretty good :).

I've also heard BSN is tasty, though I've only tried their chocolate. I'd say buy vanilla first, so you can mix it up more easily if you don't like the taste. If you DO like the taste, next time try chocolate.

Just remember to introduce it into your diet gradually, start with just half a scoop and then move up. Otherwise, if your body isn't used to it, it might cause you digestive problems.

I've tried a couple.  I like the chocolate EAS Whey Protein as well as the Designer Whey chocolate - both were good.  I mix with my water and also with my coffee.  So good.

Now I also bought the EAS Vanilla and mixed with my coffee and man - that was horrible.  But I plan on making some protein pumpkin pancakes this weekend and will use it again.  I'll let you know how it tastes.  :-)
