Protein products... any advice?
Hey all,
I'm thinking about investing in some protein products and I am looking at maxi muscle: promax diet shakes and thermabol tablets but it is quite expensive. Does anyone have any advice as to whether its worth the money or if there are cheaper products that are just as good? Or whether I should just continue without these products?
Thanks guys ![]()
Hi, I cannot speak for everyone, but my own experience with Thermobol wasn't great. I can honestly say it had no effect whatsoever on me. Performance wise, energy wise or weight loss wise!
This isn't to say it won't work for you, but I am afraid for me it was a waste of money.
If you decide to try it, let me know how you get on.
I'm not familiar with these products personally, but I swear by the BSN Lean Dessert proteins. The reason I like them is because they mix so well you can easily drink them down with water, and they are great to cook with as well. The Cinnamon and banana are my favorite flavors, I add them in yogurt, make pancakes, add into oatmeal, etc.
I think that it's best if you can get the protein from real food, but that is difficult for a lot of people. I was a vegetarian for over 10 years and I hate meat, but I choke down chicken and fish now. If you can get it in with real clean food though I would say that is your best, and cheapest bet.
Hi lorenzina! I've used promax natural, but not the others you are suggesting. I personally swear by a Hemp Based protein powder for my shakes. See Ruth's Hemp Products
As far as Thermabol goes... I'm sure you could give it a try but I honestly suggest saving your money. There is no such thing as a "fat-burning" pill... No pill can burn fat off your body.
Some may boost the thermogenic process, thus slightly speeding up the metabolism. Some even suppress appetite.
But no pill will ever be able to do what 3 cups of Loose Leaf Green or Oolong teas can do. Not only that, but most "fat-burning" pills mainly take the water weight off of your body (the natural water weight you need), rather than the fat, in an attempts to make you "feel" as though you've lost fat and that the pills do indeed work.
Marketing headlines for ineffective pills usually read "weight" loss.. rather than "fat" loss. It's all smoke and mirrors!
Tea is cheaper, too!

Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
