so proud =]
I am so proud of myself. I went to have lunch with my boyfriend at Five Guys Burgers today (to those of you not living in Northern VA, it's a fast food restaurant that makes the most delicious burgers you've ever tasted) and usually when I go I just say the heck with it and I get the standard double patty burger with cheese and all the extras and fries. But today I had the self control to order a kid's burger (one patty) with only lettuce and pickle and mustard. no cheese, no mayo, no bbq sauce, no extra patty. and I only ate half of an order of fries, instead of the whole thing. I know it's just a small change, but I felt so great afterwards because I usually cave and just go all out. I'm going to call this "DAY ONE" of me being serious about this diet and having self control. =]
did you enjoy the burger?? I know that what I first quit having all of the usual stuff on my burgers I kind of missed it. But now I'm used to it and all I really crave on my burgers is a big thick slice of juicy tomato. And ketchup of course.
A million congrats on making that choice! It sounds like my worst nightmare of a high pressure situation..and especially on eating half the fries. if I order something I usually want to finish it. def be proud :)
haha i actually did really enjoy the burger! it was a lot less messy (lol) and it just felt good knowing that I wouldn't feel guilty about eating it once i'd finished =]
and my boyfriend and i shared the order of fries, that way, even if i had been super tempted to eat more of it, i would have felt bad for depriving him of his half haha
Hey Congrats on that !!! It indeed might be a small change, but it really IS making a difference, so GOOD FOR YOU !! *happy dance*
=D
thanks everyone!
I love the way I feel right now haha, I'm going to keep making these good choices just so I can feel all triumphant again =P
Wow!! That's aweosme!!! Challenges like that are often the hardest, especially when others around you get to indulge in what you're abstaining from. Congratulations for the awesome accomplishment!! Day-by-day, meal-by-meal, and moment-by-moment...all of these achievements are just as important as any other. In the end, all overcome obstacles are all a part of reaching the final goal. By acknowledging every step as an accomplisment, you are recognizing what you are working so diligently towards. So way to pat yourself on the back!! You should be proud =)
Where in Northern VA are you? I'd LOVE to try Five Guys, but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately...) for me, they cook everything in peanut oil, and I'm allergic. I walked into one a few months ago and walked out 10 minutes later covered in a rash...
Grew up in Fairfax, currently in Arlington, so yes :)
