I saw some old posts regarding members who have psoriasis. Are there still members that have it?
I have severe psoriasis. I have had it without a break for almost 5 years now.
I still have it. I've had it for over 30 years. However it is in almost complete remission right now and I know of no reason why. But I'm not complaining. Normally it is Moderate.
I've had Psoriasis since I was about 5y.o, up it was moderate up until my dad passed away then with all the added stress it got very bad, recently my life has taken a positive swing and in the last 12 months my skin has cleared up except for a few spots under my neck and on my forearms. I'm so fortunate that it's cleared up right now, next to nothing was working for me, the Ultraviolet light worked best, but it meant I had to travel at least 3 days a week and that wasn't fitting in with my schedule. My doctor tried to put me onto Methatrexate but I decided against using it, as it can have quite severe side effects and I wasn't THAT bothered by my skin to risk them!
I've found that the sunlight/beach water does it good, it stings, but it does clear up. Also relieving stress can help clear it up, unless it's affected by diet, which mine isn't!
Best of luck with it and I hope yours clears up for you ASAP because I know exactly how you're feeling now!
One thing that did work when I was younger was creams that were made to keep cows udders healthy for milking, I've since lost contact of which brand I used, but perhaps one of the following could alleviate your symptoms?
Good luck!!
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
