Pumpkin and Turkey Chili

Quote  |  Reply

I just made this tonight, and it's fantastic!  The pumpkin taste isn't obvious, but it makes the chili quite hearty and filling.  I made it with 93% lean ground turkey and omitted the cheese and sour cream (I think it stands up well on its own), and it came out to about 185 calories per serving.  It's not my recipe, so I'll link to the site I got it from

Thanks for sharing!  I'll probably try this.

I've used pumpkin to stretch leftover spaghetti sauce before; worked like a charm.

mmmm turkey chili! The recipe looks great...would probably be even better with a can of black beans added too (love pumpkin/squash and black bean combos).

For people who have a hard time finding ground turkey, I've also seared boneless, skinless chicken breasts on a grill/frying pan, put them (whole) into the chili to simmer for awhile (say 20-30 min), then take them out and pull them apart with two forks into strands, then add it back in. Just as good!

I made this last year for a chili cookoff at work and won 3rd place!

i made it and its delicious!!!

i dud make substitutes, swapped the peppers for zuchinni and no chili pepper bc i dont like spice.  ive never had chili b4 but we loved it!

Q: what if anything do you eat w/it? side salad? potato? im clueless w/chili!

thanks!

Agruskin- With cornbread!!! Here's the recipe that I use:

I love to see the crackled top when I take it out from the oven :p

My mom likes to have it for breakfast, as a ''coffee cake'' (?) so I double the sugar. If you prefer it salty, then leave it as is.

cool, thanks!!!!!!!!!
