Purchased Training Sessions w/ Trainer over NutriSystem Food

Quote  |  Reply

The last time I successfully lost a bunch of weight, 30 lbs., was 2005 and by buying monthly boxes of food through Nutrisystem.  It took 4-5 mo. to lose the weight.  I was also doing cardio on the eliptical, but mostly it was the food.

This time the cost of their food just seemed silly to spend on just me.  My SIL (living here to care for the new baby) and DH would still have to eat - and I would be shopping for just them - that just didn't seem right.

I opted to buy 10 training sessions instead.

Has anyone else made this choice?

I am looking for some 'previews' and/or general encouragement I guess.

I also opted for training. Along with it, I was put on a lifestyle change diet. Boy has it worked. I train with weights 3 x a week and eat clean daily. I have gone from 178 to 160 (all fat) and from a "big" 16 to a "small" 14. (I am almost in my 12's but they are a little snug on the hips) I have accomplished this in 6 weeks. I know people are going to say this was too fast, but the reality is, the fat just melted off. I have maintained  and am actually eating more and still looking good. So go for it, the gym and the diet are my freinds.

Sounds like a much better option -- plus like the proverb: its better to teach a man to fish than to just give him a fish - with the training sessions you will learn how to workout effectively and if they also do nutritional support you'll really be ahead of the game.

Good luck

I did the same thing. I quit Jenny Craig and started buying training sessions instead. It's only been six weeks so far, but I'm seeing great results and all the money I'm spending keeps me motivated to keep up my routine between training sessions. Ditching Jenny Craig has also forced me to learn to eat normal healthy food on my own. I love it!!!

I feel better knowing others have had success this route.

I will just keep saving my pennies then & buying the sessions as I can!
