100 Push-Ups Challenge
http://www.hundredpushups.com/index.html
I followed a link from here and found this challenge. I like it because it can be tailored to your fitness level, push-ups are soooo good for working multiple muscle groups, and you have 7 weeks to hit your goal.
I really want to try it and would love to have some support with it. Anyone up to it?
I'd love to hear from you....
the challenge has moved here:

Here's my background: I'm 5'0", 40 in January, and weigh 120 lbs. I started out as 158 in Jan '09 (obese) and hit 120 in August, when I proceeded to stall out. I initially wanted to get down to 115, but 120 has been very easy to maintain. Anyway, I shifted my goals from weight to fitness.
I'd like to start lifting heavy. Barbells are on my Christmas list. Until then, I'm making do with bodyweight and dumbbell exercises. But, push-ups are a good challenge and should make a real difference.
I'll try to get some "before" shots in my journal soon. I wonder what changes I will see after the challenge? WARNING: I have serious residuals from birthin' 4 kids. I need a tummy tuck like fish need water.
Hopefully, some of you will join up and we can do the intial test this week and start the challenge next week....unless someone has a better idea.
Oh, I'm Tammy. Byzee!
I'm in! I just discovered the 100 Push-Ups website today and have been looking for something to help improve my ability to do push-ups. While I do a quick 10 with side planks in my normal daily workout, I would really like to increase the amount of push-ups I can do and build up my arms & shoulders at least some. I will do the initial test this week (probably tomorrow; I have an hour workout and 2.5 mile run scheduled for this afternoon) and plan on starting Week 1 next Monday, 11/16/09.
Background: I am male, 37 yr old, 6'3". I started my weight loss journey on June 1st of this year at a pretty sedentary 237 lbs. I had moved from a 34" waist pants to a 36" and those were getting tight. I was NOT going to move up to a 38" and knew I had to get started so I started counting my calories and exercising at least 5 days a week. I'm currently at 195, down 42 lbs so far and hoping to lose another 10 lbs or so. I get up at 6:00 AM every morning and jog about 3 miles and have signed up for my first 5K on Thanksgiving (I'm excited!) and also do a mix of strength training and cardio for about an hour 3-4 times a week in addition to another 2 - 2.5 mile run each afternoon. I started wearing my old 34" pants a few weeks ago and it felt REALLY good to be able to fit back in them!
I will repost once I do my initial test and find my initial max. On the way to doing 100 push-ups! We can do this!
